Dove Brothers Land Eight SGN Music Awards Nominations!

BLADENBORO, N.C. – Multi-award winning quartet the Dove Brothers landed a stellar eight nominations in the 2010 SGN Music Awards program. The nominees were announced in over 24 categories last month and the Dove Brothers were among the most nominated this year.

The popular quartet landed nominations for Song of the Year (for the critical smash “Hold On”), Album of the Year and Country Album of the Year (for Hold On), Male Group of the Year, Best Live Performer, Fan Favorite Artist of the Year, Country Song of the Year (for “A Little Good News”), and Special Event Project of the Year (for the group’s 10-year anniversary project Decennial).

In addition, group owner and manager McCray Dove received a separate nomination for writing the group’s Song of the Year nominated song “Hold On.”

“We are so honored to again be nominated in several categories for the SGN Music Awards,” mentioned McCray Dove of the Dove Brothers. “This awards program has been very kind to us over the years, and we continue to be humbled by their respect for our ministry.”

The Dove Brothers have been awarded three SGN Music Awards in the past – all in 2008 when the group won Song of the Year and Traditional Song of the Year for “I Can Pray” as well as 2008 Pacesetter. In addition to this year, the group now has been nominated 39 times in the program, including five consecutive nominations in the categories of Male Group of the Year and Fan Favorite Artist of the Year.

The SGN Music Award nominees are chosen by the staff of SoGospelNews.com and select members of the Southern Gospel media and community. Starting on February 1, 2010 – fans will get the chance to vote for their favorite songs, albums, and artists in Southern Gospel music. The 2010 SGN Music Awards Celebration will take place on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at River of Life Church in Smyrna, Tennessee. The event is free to the public.

The Dove Brothers started 2010 with a bang with news that last year’s release – Hold On – was named one of the best recordings of 2009 according to the staff of SoGospelNews.com. Hold On – the Dove Brothers’ 14th studio release – landed on four out of five “Staff Picks” lists – a yearly feature on the popular e-zine that highlight’s the writing staff’s choices for the best releases of the previous year.

Southern Plainsmen Quartet Partners with World Vision

HORNBECK, La. – West-Central Louisiana’s Southern Plainsmen Quartet are excited to announce their recent partnership with humanitarian organization World Vision. The Southern Plainsmen Quartet are now artist advocates for the organization – spreading the word at concerts, churches, and various other dates that the quartet may perform at.

World Vision is a Christian humanitarian charity organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.
