SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Popular Southern Gospel trio Eighth Day has just renewed their contract with Southern Spin Entertainment. The group has signed on for another year of exclusive publicity from Southern Spin Entertainment. Eighth Day will continue to have access to all media publications serviced by Southern Spin Entertainment, as well as marketing possibilities with the organization.
Scott Robinson of Eighth Day said, “We have grown to love Chris and Amy and everyone at SSE. They have really worked hard for us this past year, and we know that they will continue to be a really great asset to our ministry.”
“It’s really hard not to love a group like Eighth Day,” said Amy Marie Unthank of SSE Group. “Not only are they incredibly talented, but they have a real heart for seeing people come to know the love of God. That’s the kind of group we like to partner with!”
Eighth Day recently scored their first Top 20 hit. Their last single, “Rolled Away Stone”, is currently sitting at #16 on the October 2008 issue of the Singing News Top 80 chart.
In addition to breaking the Top 20 on the Singing News Top 80, the song has also charted well on other industry charts. The song peaked #14 on the SoGospelNews.com Top 40 Weekly Chart and #26 on the October 2008 issue of Gospel Music News. In addition, the song was voted #1 on GospelMusicTimes.com Top 40 Fan Chart a few weeks ago.
“Rolled Away Stone” is the latest from a string of hits from the group’s last release, Headin’ Home. All four previous singles released from that critically acclaimed project have broken the Top 40 on the Singing News Magazine’s Top 80 chart, the industry’s most recognized chart.
Those songs, such as “He Would Have Done It Anyway” (#32), “I Wanna Go Home” (#35), “Back to Me” (#26), and “Safe In His Loving Arms (#29) have earned Eighth Day an impressive following at Southern Gospel radio.
The group is anticipating the release of their new project – Everything Holy. More details on that recording will be available in the future. The debut single from that album – “Everything Holy to Me” – was released to Southern Gospel radio earlier this month through Spin-N-Motion Promotions.
