The NQC office has confirmed that famed pianist, Dino Kartsonakis, will be a special guest at the 2006 NQC Pianorama. For the last 12 years, Dino has entertained Branson, Missouri, audiences with his exceptional showmanship and talent, making his Christmas production one of the most critically acclaimed shows in the entertainment city. Taking time out from their seasonal show in Branson, Dino and his co-host and wife Cheryl make the trip to Nashville, Tennessee, to tape The Dino Show - a weekly music and interview formatted show on TBN (Trinity Broadcast Network), the top rated Christian television network. Recently, The Dino Show claimed the No. 2 Neilson rating for the entire network. Dino trained at Juilliard and in conservatories in France and Germany. His numerous recordings (over 40) have received many well-deserved accolades including a Grammy Award for his involvement on The Apostle soundtrack, a Grammy nomination for "Chariots of Fire," and eight Gospel Music Association Dove Awards.
The NQC Pianorama, produced by Roger Bennett, has become one of the most popular events at the NQC. It features many of the most prominent pianists in the Southern Gospel Music field. The Pianorama will take place on Saturday, September 16th, at 12:00 p.m. Complete schedule and ticket information is available at http://www.natqc.com/nevents.htm
In addition to participating in the Pianorama, Dino will also give a bonus mini concert in the South Wing A Lobby. This is where the Steinway grand, donated by the Steinway Company in honor of Anthony Burger, will be displayed. Dino will play that Steinway immediately prior to the doors opening to the exhibit hall. This will be a tribute to Anthony Burger, as Dino has been performing at many of the concerts left vacant by Anthony’s untimely death earlier this year.
