ADRIAN, Michigan - Southern Gospel Solo Artist Jerry Garcia of Adrian, Michigan was recently diagnosed with Stage 2 Squamous Cell Carcinoma, (mouth cancer). Jerry was immediately scheduled for surgery last week to remove the cancerous tumor. Early prognosis from the surgical team that the procedure was successful is encouraging. Sarah Garcia, Jerry's wife, reports, "The surgeon said the tumor practically fell out on it's own. It was well contained and defined and preliminary test's showed that it did not try to advance. That was good news”. However, more tests are needed to verify the cancer has been completely removed. Jerry is in good spirits and is recovering at home. Jerry states, "I am at peace knowing that many of my friends, church family, and fellow SG artist’s are praying for me. My surgery went well which tells me God has shown His favor upon my situation. To God be the glorye glorified through this trial and I will be strengthened”.

The family asks that everyone would continue to pray for a speedy recovery so that Jerry can return to singing again soon. Also, Jerry is without health insurance and the medical bills are going to be quite extensive. Please pray that God would supply the resources so this will not become a burden on the family.
