SHERMAN, Texas –Diamond Award winning duo Amazed was recently greeted with the news that they have received nominations in two key awards programs.

First, Amazed received a nomination for Female Group of the Year in the 2007 SGN Music Awards. This is the group’s first nomination in the SGN Music Awards. The SGN Music Awards’ nominations were decided on by the staff of SouthernGospelNews.com and were announced last Sunday, January 21, 2007, on the SouthernGospelNews.com site. Beginning February 1, 2007 – fans will get a chance to vote for their favorites in each category.

“We are so honored to be listed as one of the Top 5 female groups of the year,” mentioned Cathie Marsh of Amazed. “We had a really great year last year, and we can’t believe that we are even mentioned in the same breath as such artists like The Ruppes, The McRaes, Beloved, and Rejoice!”

In addition, Amazed also received news that they have been nominated for Duet of the Year in the upcoming SGM FanFair Awards. This nomination was decided upon by the fans and readers of Christian Voice Magazine. The final ballot for the SGM FanFair Awards can be found in the February issue of Christian Voice Magazine and will also be available on the SGM FanFair website beginning in February.

Tamie Perkins of Amazed said, “We were still floating on cloud nine after hearing about our SGN Music Award nomination, and then we found out about the FanFair award nomination. We are so humbled to even be considered. Thank you to everyone who voted for us. This means the world to us.”

Amazed also recently reached a radio promotional agreement with Jeff O’Neal and Heritage Communications. The company will be promoting Amazed’s new single – “Even On Monday” – to Southern Gospel radio through the agreement. “Even On Monday” was written by Donna M. Beauvais (Hope’s Call) and Sheri LaFontaine and is found on the duo’s latest Morning Star Records project – Just Getting Started.

Amazed is currently on tour with Roger Neal & Friends Sing for MS Concert Series. The duo will participate in 53 dates this year with the tour.

Amazed is based out of North Texas. The duo, consisting of Cathie Marsh and Tamie Perkins, was established in the year 2000 with a simple song, two willing souls, and a Mighty God who had a plan far greater than anyone imagined.
