What a sad time to have Anthony Burger, the greatest piano player in the world and one of the finest christians gone from us. Surely God must want him for greater things in heaven for him to be gone.
God's best to his family, including brother Randy, a resident of Athens. -
I was shocked to hear of Bro. Anthony's passing. He was just in Union City, Tn about a month ago and you would never know anything was wrong with him. I used to sing with the gospel group, Apple City Boys and our paths crossed many times. We used to meet at the NQC every year. I now am the Minister of Music and Worship at Fowlkes Baptist Church in Dyersburg, TN. My pianist has heard Bro. Anthony several times. We will indeed miss Bro. Anthony's piano playing but more than that we have lost a good Christian warrior and friend. I know that he is now in heaven praising our Lord. Even after a million years we have just started. My prayers go out to his entire family.
To be absent from the body id to be present with the Lord. -
As a musician I am saddened by the loss of one of my idols. Anthony was and will always be the best piano player ever to walk across a stage. I had the privilege to meet him several times. He even sat down with me at the piano and taught me a couple of piano licks. He will truly be missed. I know the lord is putting together one amazing band. Talk about a jam session, this is going to be the jam session of all times when all of us musicians get to heaven. It will truly be a great homecoming day.
