The Heralds Ministries, home of the King’s Heralds, is pleased to welcome Jeff Pearles, bass vocalist. The Heralds have the distinction of being the oldest continuous gospel quartet in America, serving the body of Christ since 1927. Having carved out our own niche in the last 78 years, both in the United States and in 50 other countries via recordings, radio, television, and live performances, it is our desire to continue serving the body of Christ until Jesus’ return.
The quartet has recorded in 30 languages, sung Gospel music in a variety of styles, and is always looking to share the Love and Grace of Jesus Christ wherever possible.

In 2003, the Heralds went to Africa on two occasions, one in Bulawao, Zimbabwe, and the other in Aba, Nigeria. Don Scroggs, the top tenor, says that on the Zimbabwe trip it was reported that about 15,000 people got saved, with similar results in Nigeria. The power of the Holy Spirit touched so many lives at that time, and the members of the quartet are humbled and privileged to have been a part of that effort to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jeff says that one goal for the future is to broaden the scope of the Herald’s ministry, and establish a presence in the Southern Gospel community. The Heralds have been featured artists on TBN’s Praise The Lord program, and have shared their music before the Christian Booksellers Association, the National Association of Evangelicals, the National Association of Religious Broadcasters, the Protestant Health and Welfare Association, The Greater Pittsburgh Charismatic Conference, and the Baptist World Alliance. They are currently planning an international tour for 2007 to celebrate 80 years of sharing the gospel in song.

The Heralds have received twenty-three SILVER ANGEL AWARDS® from EXCELLENCE IN MEDIA, including six for Best Male Vocal Group, and fourteen for Best Album. The group also received a GOLD ANGEL AWARD® in recognition for their being the oldest, continuous Gospel Quartet in America.

The Heralds' appreciate the richness of Jeff’s voice, and know that he will bring an added dimension to their ministry, not only vocally, but in his enthusiasm to serve our Savior, Jesus. Jeff’s experience in the Southern Gospel world will enhance the quartet’s ability to serve there, and they hope that he, in turn, will be challenged to grow in his musical and Christian experience as well.

It is an honor and a delight to welcome Jeff Pearles to the Herald’s Ministries, and they look forward to October 20, his first concert as a member of the quartet, and working with him for many years to come.

The quartet is made up of Don Scroggs, first tenor; Joel Borg, lead; Russell Hospedales, baritone; and Jeff Pearles, bass.

I think Jeff Pearles is one of the best bass singers in Southern Gospel and he will be a great addition to The Heralds. I have known Jeff for several years now, he is not only a great bass singer, he is a great Christian. Good luck to you and the new group Jeff. Hope to get to see you soon. Love ya' Tressa

I am not sure maybe I am mising something, but who are these guys. I have been in the industry for 15 years and I'm not sure who they are. I see they have won some kind of award that I have never heard of, but not sure who they are. But whoever they are, they have hired on of the best bass singers this industry has, and I know he will do a great job, he has always added a lot of vocal talent to the groups with which he has sung. Maybe we will know who they are now

The reason many people in Gospel music are not familar with the Heralds, is because they are a 7 day adventist group.

They are wonderful men, and I have used their material for years. Enjoyed the former bass for many years in a campmeeting in Albuquerque.

I believe that they USED to be a Seventh Day Adventist group, but I think that a couple of the new members are not.

Dear Michael Garner:
I am adventist. I live in Argentina. I am fanatic of
The Heralds, Gold City, Kingdom Heirs and The Gaither Vocal Band.
For me, you must hear The Heralds singing a capella.
They are a very very good quartet. The voice of the
tenor (Don Scroggs) is wonderful. Believe me.
Blessings and sorry for my english.
Sebastian

This is great news! I had the chance to sing on stage with the Heralds with my quartet about 15 years ago. Only Don Scroggs is the remaining quartet member from that time. I've always liked the Heralds sound and I'm glad Jeff has joined them.

The Heralds are not a Southern Gospel group, (though I'm sure their sound will have changed with the departure of their long time members)and don't run in the southern gospel/Gaither community.

Jeff Pearles is THE best gospel bass singer today, hands down (and I like the best, JD, George Younce etc. I loved Palmetto State Quartet when Jeff was in it!

As far as I know, the King's Heralds are still an SDA quartet (Jeff himself is one too as far as I know. His dad is an artist with the SDA church too)

Good for him!

I agree with the others who say that Jeff is a great bass singer. He is. I've known him since he was with Palmetto State and I love to hear him sing. I'm sure Jeff wouldn't make a move like this without much prayer. Congratulations Jeff!

I`m a fan of the Heralds. They have been with me through these years, and I`m thankful for their praises. You have changed a lot over these years (members) I hope you don`t go boasting you`re the best. The most important thing is that you humbly present the message of salvation to the world as you have been doing all this time.
Sincerely, Carlos
