Legendary singer/songwriter, Bill Gaither and the National Quartet Convention Board of Directors have announced plans to add the Gaither Homecoming Sing-Along Showcase to the 2009 National Quartet Convention. The 2009 NQC event is set to take place during the week of September 13 through 19 at the Kentucky Fair & Expo Center in Louisville, KY. The Gaither Homecoming Sing-Along will be held on Wednesday, September 16 at 12:00 noon.

According to NQC Vice President, Clarke Beasley, the addition of the Homecoming Sing-Along brings back one of the more popular showcases ever held at the annual Convention. “We are thrilled that Bill Gaither will present the Homecoming Sing-Along at the 2009 National Quartet Convention. During the years Mr Gaither hosted the event, it was always one our most popular Showcases,” Beasley stated. “The event will feature many of the artists who have appeared on the highly successful Gaither Homecoming Video Series, performing Gospel classics. I know our attendees and supporters will be thrilled to be able to see the Gaither Homecoming format on the NQC stage once again.”

Although the Wednesday showcase will not feature the Gaither Vocal Band or Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, the Grammy Award winning The Gaither Vocal Band will join Ernie Haase & Signature Sound for Thursday afternoon’s Together Showcase, which will also take place beginning at 12:00 noon. “It’s no secret. I love good quartet singing,” Gaither stated. “So I’m looking forward to the opportunity to participate once again in the National Quartet Convention.” The Gaither Vocal Band and Ernie Haase & Signature Sound will also appear on the Friday evening concert at Freedom Hall.
