I’m new here - although I think after this encounter - I probably won’t be back. I don’t think I have time for this kind of controversy. My information was not meant as “encouraging gossip” but rather to give information to someone who had inquired about “anything” anyone might know. I can’t imagine that you thought I was trying to cast a shadow on their ministry - most people who have been around southern gospel music for a number of years are well aware of the fact I presented - and it does not matter to them at all. I can’t imagine someone thinking that anyone who comes to this website, interested in gospel music and taking the time to post, would be here to “start trying to encourage gossip of those who are allowing God to do a good work through them”. Maybe if more facts were known, people would realize that those in gospel music are not superstars…they are just like the rest of us - “sinners saved by grace”.......
Since this site is not what I had originally thought - I will not be posting further…...
Don’t get all upset beside yourself. I didn’t mean to discourage you from posting and would never do that. I just wanted to ask a simple question. Sadly to say, there are many on here that do their best to encourage gossip and I was just making sure you weren’t doing the same. No harm was meant. You are right, maybe if more facts were known, people would realize that we are all human. At the same time, I would like to know who in gospel music are superstars, LOL? Truth be told, there are a lot of facts about Joy and Landy that could be shared that do nothing but show the work of God through them. Sadly, many will try to nit pick the fact you presented and turn it into something it is not. That has happened on this site on more than one occasion. For those wanting more facts, here are a few.
Landy volunteers as choir director and is not a paid staff member (talk about sacrifice).
He has been doing this for 32 years.
In that time, the choir has been to Russia, performed at the Grand Ole Opry House, been nominated for Grammy’s, and has been recognized for excellence around the world all at the same time reflecting the image of Christ to a lost and dying world. Their Christmas concert has been recorded and sent around the world to troops over seas to encourage and lift their spirits.
