Deon, I sincerely hope you are right. I also greatly doubt it.
Just curious, why are you so negative?
I just don’t see any way for McCain to win.
He is not charismatic. He is not rallying the base. He will not get crossover votes, even though he is nearly a democrat himself.
I don’t see any scenario where he wins this election.
In addition to that, the House and Senate are likely to continue to be even more strongly held by the Dems.
Give me some reason for optimism, because I would truly love to believe them.
I see lots of hope for McCain to win. First, Obama got NO bump out of his “official” win over Hillary. That just never happens.
Secondly, McCain isn’t going to have to rally his base. The Conservatives are going to be “rallied” by the issue of judges and gay marriage.
Thirdly, McCain was quick to jump on the right side of the oil issue. As loudly as the American public has shouted drill now, we want short term answers while you work on long term answers, the Democrats still just don’t get it, and they are way too committed to radical Conservationists to back down from it. Every day that Obama wants high oil prices to conserve energy, he is losing votes, even Democrat votes, big time.
I see lots of reason for hope that McCain will win. Once again, he’s not my choice, but he’s a whole lot better than any other choice we have. I’ll hold my nose and vote, but I will vote, not because McCain has stirred me up, but because I’m tired of paying nearly $5 a gallon for gas. People won’t be voting for McCain, but rather FOR drilling for oil NOW.
If the people get disgusted enough over this oil problem, they just may decide to vote out the Democrats who are blocking progress from drilling oil.
