Are there any horse racing fans out there? My mother’n'law watches them and while visiting use we watched the Kentucky Derby this past weekend. I have to say that it was interesting. Congratulations to Big Brown. I really didn’t understand all of the situation with Eight Belles and the trainer, jockey, etc. I read where the horse broke two ankles and finished second?????? Wow. I there are any horse racing gurus out there please help me understand all of this. Thanks! 

The Kentucky Derby is about the only horse race I watch, but watch it I did.  Eight Belles broke both forelegs after crossing the finish line in second place!  She was the only filly running.  Really quite sad as the equine ambulances surrounded the downed horse and out on the track they had to end her misery.
