I know these type threads get started up at least once a year but I always find it interesting that some SGM artists/groups are still performing SGM but we never seem to hear from them as much. One keyboard player that I used to enjoy hearing at concerts was James Rainey. I saw him mainly with the Singing Americans, in the late 1990’s and I know he was with the Greenes and various other groups at times but I have not heard of him in years. Can any of you tell me if he is still involved in performing?

How about Tammy Britt of The Nelons who performed with the group at the same time with Charlotte Penhollow?

I’m thinking that surely some of these artists are using their talent in a church ministry somewhere.

Chris Allman is pastor of The Church at Burlington in Burlington, North Carolina. We had him as a part of the Greater Vision reunion tour date we promoted in 2005 and the guy is singing better than ever.

This one wasn’t mentioned but talking about Chris makes me think of it. Scott Whitener, formerly of Singing Americans, Jericho, and Melody Masters is also pastoring a church - Catawba Heights Wesleyan Church in North Carolina. I spoke with him a couple of times recently and he’s doing great. He and two other former Melody Masters plus Lamar Levi and David Bruce Murray sing occasionally as The Carolina Quartet.

I believe Stan Cook is involved with the ministry of Tupelo Children’s Mansion in Tupelo, MS.
