I have lovingly owned Birmingham Alabama’s Own Steel City Quartet for the past 10 years. Yes, SteelcityLead is our lead singer. We are a busy well established regional quartet averaging about 70 dates per year. You can hear the current quartet @ myspace/steel city quartet . We are a part time quartet however the positons are paid. Serious applicants only should e-mail me at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) Singing harmony and having a proper vocal range is required. You should also live within a reasonable drive from Birmingham. I look forward to hearing from you.

Greg Carter & Landon Dreher

I noticed the same thing on an ad I placed several weeks ago. Amazing!?!? I think it’s a plot. They are probably unionizing!!!

Maybe right.

I could find 10 tenors 20 years ago just ready to sing and now I can not find anyone. I guess I need to learn to sing high.  I am good for 2 or 3 songs.

You almost always find someone you know to sing.  Pray. that God works things out.  Still looking though

Well,

I fill it. Not much to choose from in tenors, no much better on baritones.  What about the Johnson boy church.

Have the people who have auditioned so far been to few or not what you need for your group?

To answer your question mmarley4 it is both. Not many people applied. I can tell you that we did audition some last night and we had some fine christians come to sing. I can say that we did find a great young /lead baritone and an alto that are as good as I have heard.  The kicker is I kinda knew the baritone from a former quartet he sing with and the alto was found while searching on myspace who is local as well.  God always provides. He may have sent us some great singers.

What is the age range you are looking for and how seasoned do you want the person to be?

I’m not asking for myself because I have a group.

We have filled all positions as of yesterday. We have a great alto(no tenors to be found) and a baritone/lead and we feel fortunate to find these two gifted singers. I think people will be excited with the new sound. And it will be new!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look for new updates on our website soon.
