Sometimes I have some weird, off the wall, crazy thoughts come into my brain and cannot help it; after all, I am a huge (actually skinny) fan of THE FAR SIDE comic strip by Gary Larson, if that says anything. My wife says that I am geek (but I am her geek)! What does she know, right? Anyway I am not sure if this is appropriate or not but I thought it would be just for fun so please do not think I am comparing rock-n-roll to gospel music or anything like that. I wouldn’t take this thread serious either, unless you want to pray for them to change over to gospel music. I thought it would be humorous and if you do not find it humorous that is ok.
I have often wondered what it would be like to take some rock-n-roll singers and band members and make a (southern) gospel quartet out of and how it would sound.
Here would be my (southern) gospel quartet :
Eddie Van Halen – guitar       David Bryan – keyboard     Rick Allen - drums
Lead - Steve Perry or Brad Delp
Baritone – Jon Bon Jovi
Bass – James Hetfield
1st Tenor – Tommy Shaw
Hey, stranger things have happened!  tongue rolleye

This is a good idea for a thread….very entertaining! OK, here’s my line-up;

Tenor- Bobby Kimball
Lead- Bryan Adams
Baritone-Darius Rucker
Bass- Tim Riley

OK, for the explanations. First, Tim Riley. I can’t think of anyone in rock music right now that can give out those quartet dive bombs. Therefore, I’m sticking to Tim for that chair. Now, Darius Rucker. I’m just trying to think of that dense baritone sound that really gets that blend. Bryan Adams might be a stretch. His voice is much thinner than the other voices I chose. That might not work, but it would be worth a listen. Bobby Kimball, to me, is a no brainer. This has my mind going a mile a minute for other groups. I’ll probably post again…...and again.

Also JD Sumner.

Forgot the band…....

Drums- Manu Katche
Bass- Leland Sklar
Electric Guitar- Steve Lukather
Acoustic Guitar- Dominic Miller
Keys- Doug Carter (or David Foster or Bruce Hornsby)

OK, I know I put myself for keys. But my thought is…....If I’m putting a band together, I want to play with them!!!! For everybody who doesn’t want me to play with my heroes, I put another choice for keys.
