This morning in N. Indiana about 5:40AM we were shaken awake with tremors from the earthquake that centered in southern Illinois!  Quite a strange sensation.  I thought at first (I was mostly asleep) that the dog was scratching and shaking the bed or a big semi had just driven past the house.

Yeah, I have experienced a tremor myself!  Back in March of 2003, my family lived In Oakwood GA in Hall county.  I woke up around 3AM, went to the bathroom, came back and flopped on the bed.  When I did, the room started shaking!  I thought I was just imagining it, but then realized that it was an earthquake.  Living in NE Ga like I have all my life, I was really suprised.  It lasted about a minute.  I told my wife about it that morning, only to get comments like “you need to run on the treadmill” and “quit going to McD’s so late at night” and other comments about my weight.  Later on that day, she called me and apologized.  She had seen a story about on the Atlanta news channel WXIA-TV after I had left for work.
