Republicans and conservatives often speak of “traditional family values,” and how they espouse these values. The often makefamily values the centerpiece of their campaign.
And family values are important. I believe the family is the fundamental unit this great nation is founded on.
McCain was still married and living with his wife in 1979 while aggressively courting a 25-year-old woman who was rich, manipulative, and poweful. McCain divorced his wife, who had raised their three children then launched his political career with his new wife’s family money.
Obama on the other hand has a loving wife who still spends most of her week looking after the couple’s daughters Malia, 8, and Sasha, 5, at their Chicago home. She is a loving wife who combines the poise of Jackie Kennedy with the brain of Hillary Clinton and the uncomplicated charm of Laura Bush.
It’s one thing to pontificate about family values and use such verbage as “upholding the sanctity of marriage”...it’s quite another to actually live those values.
Obama personifies those values, while McCain mocks them.
