I talked with HT for a few minutes on the phone a few weeks ago. I hope to see him at the Brumley Sing in August.

He is a good guy.

Loved your post Sallyh.  Don’t know if you remember us but HT’s Chatroom holds a special place for KW (Kentucky Woman) and I.  I joined HT’s chatroom in the fall of 97 shortly after it came into being.  I met KW in the spring of 98 in the Chatroom and we were married in June 98.  We have been singing in the Lord’s service as Flames of Love since spring of 2000 and have been blessed in HIS SERVICE.  How many other Chatroom members are out there?  Maybe we can have a reunion here.  LOL

Papoet - I DO remember you and Kentucky woman!!  You were one of 2 couples that I know of (I THINK) that formed in that chat room.  Cliff - you and Anita met there didn’t you?

It’s sad that that has come to an end.  We used to have a great time!

I remember many of the other names just mentioned on here.  Another I remember was Mousey.  I used to see her at NQC occassionally.  Another was Tree, aka Larry Green.  I still see him occassionally in L’ville.  Also get an email from him once in a while.

Sallyh......... I have been reading these blogs for a long while now but for some reason didn’t join in the conversation by becoming a member.  Sometimes the “battles” that get going were a turnoff and I chose to NOT enter into the fray.  But mention of Harrold Timmons peaked my interest and I finally joined.  Thank you for that.

Now a question for Cliff Cerce.  KW and I have been discussing whether you were a member of the chatroom when we were there.  I am not certain but I believe we met at the ‘99 Chatter’s luncheon at NQC.  IF this is so then I humbly apologize to you for such a feeble memory.  Age is catching up to me.  LOL

I was in HT’s chat room for a short time b4 he closed it down.

Ironically, my husband and I met on Sogospelnews email list.  I adore him btw.  He’s a wonderful husband.  God really blessed me.

I wonder how many other couples are out there that met on these chat rooms, email lists, or in the forums.

Hello to all above.

Sally Hart, it was good to see you in Gatlinburg, and I’m so sorry we did not get to chat much.  Also, thanks for this thread.  I don’t get here often, but heard this thread was posted.  I recognize all of the people above.  We had some wonderful times in the chat room, and I hated to let it go, but it took up much of my time.  Also, congradulations to Poet and KW, and to Cliff and Anita, who met in the room, got married, and are still married.  Deon and Susan were members, but not administragors.  When I chose to close the room, I gave them a heads up and blessings to start one if they wish.

As for what I’m doing....much of the same.  I still have Gospel Gallery dealing in old recordings, as well as other stuff.  I have booths at NQC, Brumley, and other places, but not quite as extensive traveling as before.  As most of you know, I was the first and only pianist for the Chuck Wagon Gang, from 1985 until 1994, when we returned the leased name to the family, who had planned one more family tour, and then they planned to retire the name.  The name retirement was only briefly, and after Roy Carter’s death and negotions, the group re-organized, began touring and recording again, and has been a full-time group again for several years.  In 2006, I published the first Chuck Wagon Gang songbook in 39 years, “Our Recorded Songs Number 3,” and it has sold well.  In July of 2007, I was re-hired by the Chuck Wagon Gang as Marketing Director for the Chuck Wagon Gang.  Once in awhile I travel with them, but most of the time I am in Nashville, behind the scenes, promoting, researching, finding something new to market, etc., dealing with copyrights, royalties, and other legal aspects of the group.  One of my current, on-going major tasks is researching, conducting interviews, looking for old footage and radio shows, and finding bits and pieces to put together a documentary on the Chucks.  This will be for TV and for purchase, and will be released on the 75th Anniversary of the CWG in a few years. (Yes, it will take a few years to compile).  While at Gatlinburg, I was talking to folks regarding future interviews.  While I am at it, if any of you have any contributions in the way of old radio or TV interviews, live reel-to-reel or cassette recordings from concerts or radio, good candid photos of any edition of the group, I welcome your email.  We don’t need official publicity photos, or any recordings.  We have all 72 years of therecordings.  I am looking for the “unusual” that few know about.

Anyone is free to contact me or

Hope to see some of you at NQC, Brumley sing, or other places.

Signed as usual, but giggling (I am a Newbie),

HT

HELLO TO WES AND TO HT.  Good to hear from you both.  Wes.........send us an email if you would.  Would love to hash over old times.
Mr. HT.......  good to see you’re still kicking my friend.  KW and I are celebrating our 10th Anniversary on the 12th of June.  It has been a wonderful time being married to the red-headed Kentucky Woman and I say that in truth and from the heart.
This thread has brought back some good memories for all of us....... and some classy reunions.
But then there are sad memories too.  I am sure many of you remember Crooner.  Crooner’s lifelong desire was to sing for a Billy Graham Crusade.......and it was granted that he was to sing in July of 2002.  However, in April (I believe) his cancer returned and he was too ill to fulfill the dream.  He passed over that fall.  It particularly troubles me because he asked us to stop on our way back to Penna..but we were driving a 30 MH pulling a trailer and had no way to pull it into his home area.  We intended to go back down the next week but Gail told me he passed on that Friday.  He was truly a wonderful person.....and such an awesome smooth baritone voice.  I loved the man and think of him often.  I remember well the “tutu” conversations from the chatroom............................................... well........I’ll leave that one unfinished.  LOL
