Can anyone tell me what ever became of the group N’Harmony? They had a great sound and I can find nothing from them lately. I guess that I have been hibernating.
I agree, they had a GREAT sound! They broke up several years ago. Shane Dunlap, went to sing with Signature Sound. Later started doing solo work. The rest of the guys from N’ Harmony are doing other things. Some in music some not.
Here is to hoping that N’ Harmony one day re-appears!!!
I liked N’ Harmony. I think that they had great potential. They were also from my home state. Also, me and Shane Dunlap share the same name (except I spell it Shayne)
I know that one of their founding members died, and then Shane went on to sing with SSQ. I don’t think that they parted on the best of terms. Then he also sang with Kirk Talley and Anthony Burger as The Trio (filling Ivan Parker’s vacant spot).
I would like to see them make a comeback, along with some other great groups of the past. I would really like to see someone reform The Singing Americans. They were also a really great group.
I guess that I go back a long way, (no, I am only 55) but I remember singing at a concert in North Carolina when Michael English sang with the Singing Americans. I thought to myself, “WOW, that kid has a great voice.” I wonder what it would take to start a group like TSA’s again?

You are correct, Shanes father did pass away. Sahne then took over the group. There last CD was, in my opinion, the best Quartet CD in a looong time. They had an awesome sound and blend.
I didn’t hear N’Harmony live when they were a group but I’ve gotten two of their albums in the last 6 months or so. I don’t think Shane is singing right now --- but he ought to be!!
What was the name of their last CD? I wonder how many CD’s the group made? I have only heard their songs in a hit or miss fashion, but I loved what I heard.
I don’t know how many CDs they made, but I have Hold On and Out of the Blue. Out of the Blue was more recent than Hold On, but I don’t have the CDs with me to look at their copyright dates.
N’Harmony was formed originally as a trio by Shane and his dad Steve Dunlap. After Steve died, the group reorganized as a quartet with Shane on LEAD. He surrounded himself with marvelous voices including the purest tenor ever, Scott Rogers. Craig O’Dell on baritone and Kevin Waters, a tremendous young bass.
The group produced four albums. In 2000, Out of the Blue. In 2002, Hold On, We Believe God, and an acappella album, Voices of N"Harmony, a Cappella. The Out of the Blue album scored five chart hits.
I found this link on SoGospelNews about the group disbanding.
I don’t remember who took Scott’s place, but the “sound” was lost. It wasn’t too long after that the group disbanded. Scott, Craig and Kevin were just super guys. Since I’ve been out of the loop for several years now, I would love to know what the three of them are doing now. Anyone know?
Thanks for the information. I also tried to follow the links at the bottom of your reply and only got a couple of banners on a web page. Are you in a quartet or some other form of music. Excuse my ignorance, I’m kinda new to all of this type of message board stuff.
Okay, I keep seeing Scott, when I think you mean Shane? When Shane left to sing lead for SSQ the other 3 guys never hired a lead singer and the group just faded away. And yes ALL the guys with N’ Harmony were great guys. I have known Shane for almost 15 years… Someone I am glad and proud to call Friend. I can tell you that he and the other N’ Harmony guys are still in touch, still good friends and have been since the group disbanded.
(Que dramatic music) As far as N’ Harmony getting back together…

Scott was a fabulous tenor and left the group before Shane left tor SSQ. The gentleman that replaced Scott (imho) was maybe not what I expected to hear when he sang songs that had previously featured Scott.
