I’m continuing to have very sluggish response on this site. None of the other sites I visit responds as slowly. I have dsl, so taking 20 - 30 seconds to load a page is really frustrating. Is there anything I can/should do besides clearing Temp internet files and cumping cookies????
Sally, we’ve had IT guys working on the problem and it is much better today, and IT do agree with you, it’s a real pain and aggravation when computer programs don’t work instantaneously.
Really, we have (I’m including me in this) come a long way. If our computer doesn’t respond immediately we are so frustrated. I mentioned to Susan while this was happening how it was taking forever to get a page to come up, yet 17 years ago, when we got our first computer, when it took 20 or 30 seconds to get a file we thought that was REALLY fast.
Sadly, it’s not just with computers, all of us have come to expect a life of instantaneous living. If my hamburger isn’t handed right to me after I order it at McDonalds, I’m pacing back and forth. If somebody isn’t darting away from a green light, the instant the light changes, we’re honking our horns at them.
Granted it’s the world we live in, but I’m not sure that I like it. Maybe God slows our computers down every once in a while to show us that we need a little more patience. Just thinking about it, but, better He slow the computer down than some other ways He’s taught me patience. LOL
