I just found out that TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network) will devote another night of their “Praise the Lord” program to Southern Gospel Music.

This Friday night March 28th, Jason Crabb will again host with guests including Mike and Kelly Bowling, The Palmetto State Quartet, Gold City, Three Bridges, and The Crabb Family...My guess is the family is coming together specifically for this special Night of Southern Gospel Music..Sounds like a great lineup..Looking forward to it.

I am so happy that TBN has been bringing good southern gospel to the Praise the Lord program. Three Bridges had sent me an E-mail that they were going to be on Fri night and I was excited about that. It will be even more exciting to see this great line-up. Can’t wait!!!

So glad Three Bridges are on. Here in Ohio we can’t get enough of them. These three men bring it on where ever they go.Their ministry is certainly annointed!

The Nelons & Crabb Revival sang that night. It was pretty good. Also Ivan sang.

Savage, or anyone?  Is TBN going to have SG Music on ‘more’ often now or not? question  Well, I sure wish that they would, it would be great for me.....Hum..

Good stuff tonight.  Gold City was tight and the new lead singer sounded good.  I’d never heard him and was impressed.  He’s different than any of their previous lead singers, imo.  More soul and a little more contemporary, really seems to fit well.  I’ve heard them on TBN one other time and the sound was poor, this time the vocals had good presence and the mix was good.

What happened to Palmetto State?  They sound terrible.  They sound like a church quartet trying to sound like a bad lounge act!  I hope they’re still feeling their way, it can’t get any worse.

Missed Gold City. Three Bridges needs to find their own niche instead of emulating Mike English and Signature Sound. Did not care for Palmetto State’s song selection. Overall program was ZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

And I have and will continue to like all groups that participated. Just not a fan of praise and worship music. Different program on a different night could get a completely different reaction from me.

Just my opinion.

I missed Gold City and I was really bummed about that.

I recorded on DVR.  Gold City was good.  I enjoyed Mike & Kelly Bowling the most other then Crabb family at end.

PSQ was the worst with doing contemporary music churches do with trying to make it SG. It was awful.

I agree that PSQ was not very good at all.  I didn’t like the silly moves that Three Bridges did.  Definately a spin of EHSSQ.  I did like the Crabb siblings best of all when they did the bit on the stools at the end.

IMHO, it was a pretty poor representation for SG as a whole.  If these marginal performances continue, we’ll see less SG instead of more.

I imagine PSQ is still trying to find its “niche”, if you will. I did like the fact that they have a percussionist as well as a keyboardist. Hopefully they will improve and this was, indeed, just a performance of them still finding their place.
