Archie Watkins;
While he might not have the best voice, he is the most recognizable and he generates great harmony.

Yes, Archie is definitely recognizable!!

My favorites right now are David Sutton and Brent Mitchell, and there are several others that I like very much.

WOW I can’t believe Johnny Cook wasn’t listed here. He really was the voice. And just as incredible was the Great Pat Hoffmaster!!! I had the honor of traveling and singing with Pat and Rick Strickland in the original Sound.

Yes, Johnny Cook would have been high on my list of favorites, maybe 1st on a list of the all around best, ie “Looking for a City”.  Johnny Parrack, of the earlier Kingsmen, although singing falsetto, was the highest I have ever heard and he could sing unbelievably high and still be dead center on key.  Jerry Trammel was and is clear and high with a great ability to blend with the other parts.  I could go on for a while but I won’t.  I am a “young” (lol) bass who waxes nostalgic about great harmony singers I have heard and am slightly envious, at times, of good 1st tenor singers, in particular.

If any of you can find some way to listen to an old album done by a man who was not a Gospel singer but was a great tenor do it. His name is Joe Feeney and he was part of the Lawrence Welk show for many years. I have an old album on RCA by him and he is a great Irish tenor singer, right up there with the likes of Crumpler and Neilson.

I think the best one traveling today is Jerry Martin of the Dove Brothers......although I love John Rulapaugh.  One of the better voices from the past is Jim Murray, who sang with the Imperials, among other groups.  I also like Michael Booth (today) and Sherrill Neilson
(past).

I love Scott Roger’s voice. He is so smooth! In fact, I have a friend who doesn’t post on here, who listens to every kind of music imaginable and has for many years. She will flat out tell you that Scott’s voice is her absolute favorite.

I love to hear Brian as well.....some songs should be sung by no one else!!

I love Scott Rogers too, but heard that he isn’t with CrossWay now. Is he with another group ? If it is true, I sure will miss him next time I see CrossWay.
