I’m kinda wishy washy with the girls.  My husband like Kady Malloy and has since her audition.  My daughter doesn’t like any of the girls.  My son could care less, and I go back and forth.  I like Syesha and Asiah.  But Ramiel is getting her groove going.  Will be interesting to see who is leaving tonight.  But I think Michael Johns will take it all.

I wasn’t surprised with any of the ones to go home.

Garrett Haley and Colton Berry (although I figured that Chickezie would go before Colton - I think Chickezie thought that too!)

Gals were Amy Davis and Joan Borgella (I had hoped she would stick around another week or so))

Usually the 1st cuts aren’t the worst.  When it gets down to sending home one who is superior musically to one who has charisma and the voters miss the boat totally.  (they’ve done that more than a time or 2)

Well, all ready for another week.

Interesting night.  I thought Chickeze really redeemed himself and is a contender now!  Last week I would have sent him home and wondered why he didn’t go!!  Some of the ones I really liked last week were just OK - this week, but not outstanding = Michael Johns, Jason Castro and Luke Menard, Robbie Carrico.  The ones I really, really, really liked last night were David Hernandez and most fav: David Archuletta!  Simon says he’s the one to beat right now.  THAT worries me - high praise early on can lead to an early “demise”!!

I didn’t agree with Robbie Carrico being voted off, but I only voted for Michael Johns so I can’t say much.  The rest probably needed to go home.  Still am a Michael Johns fan.

Yes and No - Jolene#2!  How’s that for a definite answer?  LOL What frustrates me is that it ends up being a “popularity contest:” and not a “talent” contest.  If one of the contestants has huge amounts of fans - they can just vote and vote til the “cows come home” and thus get in many more votes than that person would normally have.  I’ve seen hugely talented folks get voted off cause they just didn’t get enough votes.  Perhaps they should limit the number of votes per phone line like on Dancing With the Stars, or what I’d really like to see is for the judges to have SOME sort of influence on the outcome.  I’m not sure how that would work out, but keep it from being totally popularity.

Now - last nights’ results:  guys - Robbie Carrico (big surprise!) and Jason Yeager - buh bye.
gals - Alaina Whitaker and Alexandrea Washington - buh bye.

I was really thinking that Amanda was going to go home!  Her performance - IMHO - was so lacking that I thought she’d really blown it.  Seems like she is getting worse and worse.  When she was featured in the opening number last night, I really didn’t care for her “singing” at all.  She didn’t get my vote this week and will need to really earn it next!  (not that MY vote is so special - LOL)

I think Amanda is really going to have to have a great week to stick around another week.  No one stands out to me, except David Archuleta..........the ones I liked the first week, I didn’t particularly like last week.....pretty much what sally said.  This week will be interesting.  Are they doing the 80’s this week, or something else?

I haven’t heard what the theme is.  Guess we’ll have to wait about 12+ hours to see for ourselves!  LOL

Controversy about one contestant - David Hernandez.  Was in the paper yesterday.  He’d worked as male stripper.  No plans to have him exit the show for that reason.  Guess we need to speak with (without) our votes.

Will be interesting to see what happens tonight as they go down to the final 12.

Hurray - Danny Norriega got sent home last night!  I was afraid he was going to be this year’s Sanjaya (remember that wild haired dude from last season?)

Also going home is Luke Menard from the guys and gals Asia’h Epperson and Kady Malloy.

Hopefully Amanda (rocker chick/nurse, skunk hair) will go soon.

I believe David Hernandez should be sent packing.  I think he has a terrific voice and he was one of my early choices.  However, it seems that the rumors are true that he worked in a gay night club and did really bad things.  This is American Idol, these people are suppose to not only be great singers, but they are suppose to be held up to a younger generation as a role model and to me what David did was totally wrong and I wouldn’t want a son, nephew or any other young person I know having him as a role model.

totally agree Anita!  Unfortunately his voice will take him a bit further.  Like you, I had liked him up front til the news appeared in the papers about his stripping.  So unfortunate.  What a waste.

Just occurred to me to wonder if there are any strong Christians among the contestants as there was last year.  Perhaps he’s staying around so he can hear their witness!  Pray that!

Actually I believe Brook White is a christian.  I think I remember her saying she is and she sang Amazing Grace to get to Hollywood, she tried another song and it didn’t do as good so she sang Amazing Grace a second time and said she was going back to what she was really used to singing.  If I have the right contestant she’s also the one that told the judges she had never drank and Simon started teasing her that they were going to corrupt her.  She told them they couldn’t.  I am thinking I have the right contestant, but of course I could be mistaken.
