I hear on the news that many of the southern states had deadly weather.  How are all my friends who live in those areas?  Were any of you effected???

sallyh, We, in Osceola,AR wasn’t affected very much a School did clock winds at 65-miles per hr. though & we had a lot of rain, but ‘storms & tornados were ALL around us.... one sighted in Blytheville,Ar or (some 75-mile-strait-line-winds of 75-miles per hr. from there to Manila,AR (one son lives there… his Apt. did some shakin’ too… Izard Co. Mt. Veiw,AR near my other son, was hit & it was terrible where he lived to, he got some pillows and stayed in his ‘closet’ praying untill it was over… Praise God for His love, mercy, grace, all things and His protection too..  (We have been praying for those that did have damage and lost loved ones last night too..)) *Memphis,TN took a big hit too, Southhaven,MS, Batesville,AR —Oh yes, Jackson, TN… They reported 13- deaths in AR, the last news I heard today.

(well, I sat in my chair & walked some to, praying most of yesterday) for God to keep those storms up in the atmosphere/ or futher up in the sky too!!

( had to move my Dr. Appt. up too!!) We didn’t know for sure what time those ‘storms’ were going to be in our area or/ Jonesboro,AR either??....So, we’re to go on Feb. 26th. to Ear, Eye, Nose, Throat Specialist about headaches, ears-ringing, and diffculty in swallowing & other “isms” too!!

We have extensive damage in our area.  The weather service has classified the tornado that hit as an F4.  Houses were completely gone.  We have had 4 deaths.  Three were from one family.  The tornado cut a 17 mile straight line path.  I have seen tornado damage before, but never like this.  One new house, approximately 3000 square foot not including the basement was completely gone.  Several others were just gone.  By this, I mead nothing was left except the foundations.  Other homes were picked up and moved.  One large home was picked up off the foundation, spun around in the air, and set down about 70 feet into the front yard.

Thank God more lives were not lost.

One thing that did seem strange...at some places where mobile homes and houses were side by side and both damaged, it seemed the mobile homes held together better than the houses.  At one place a brick home was demolished.  A trailer next door was flipped over on the roof, but still in one piece.  That just seemed strange.  Someone said that new mobile homes builders have a very rigid set of building and strength requirements.  Since this was a rural area, home builders don’t have any quality controls.  Thought that was interesting.

FamilyMan - I’m so sorry to hear of all the loss you and your community have endured.  Our area of northern IN had such a series of tornados back in 1965.  For those who have never seen tornado devastation, it is unimaginable!
