My name is Jeff Runion and I had the privilege of being a part of a group known as the Kingsboys back in the 1980’s.  We had our first concert 25 years ago this past September.  Myself, along with Kevin and Kenyon Clark and Jason Camp were fortunate to share stage time with the Kingsmen at the National Quartet Convention in October of 1982.  I was scared to death that night but it was the beginning of 4 incredibly wonderful years for me.  The group continued until 1992 and just recently, we have been getting in touch with each other to share old memories.

During this past year, my father Calvin, who sang bass with the Kingsmen during the 60’s, passed away.  Jim Hamill, who spent many countless hours with us during our early development, went home to be with the Lord and join Eldridge Fox, Anthony Burger, and Frank Cutshaw as former Kingsmen who have passed away.  Kevin and Kenyon’s mom, Sara, passed away this year also.

As a result, I felt a strong desire to help preserve some of the great memories by creating a myspace music page to share with each other and the many friends who followed us over the years.  It is located at http://www.myspace.com/kingsboys.  Hope you enjoy.

Hi Jeff,

I remember the Kingsboys (Chronicle, too).  I especially remembered
the song “Healer in the House”.
I seem to remember seeing you on TV or on video........now
I am wondering if I have it on a tape.  Maybe it was just
on TV.
Always wondered if you guys ever sang again or not.  I cannot
remember when I first went to Natqc.  Maybe, I saw Kingsboys
sing on the stage at convention.  25 years ago is quite a while for
remembering, but I definitely remember you all singing the song
mentioned above.
Nice page you made on My Space.  Enjoyed the album/cassette
covers in the slide show, and listened to all the songs.

I was a fan too. I saw the Kingsboys/Chronicle at the All Night sings in Waycross, GA.  I can still remember the blue shiny satin looking suits.  One of my favorite songs they did, which I am listening to right now is “When We Pray”.

How old was the guy who sang bass?  Ive always thought he had an awesome bass voice.

The very first CD that my family ever bought (two days after we bought our first CD player) was “Chronicle Live.” I still have it, and listen to it often. You guys were great!!
