Welll, have many favorite Tenors, but will now list the below:
1. Brian Free
2. Chris Collins* was with Kingsmen in 90’s*.
3. Jerry Thompson
4. Kirk Talley
5. Rick Strickland
6. Steve Warren* with Stamps Qt.-in 90’s *.
As I’ve posted before, I’ve neven heard any ‘bad’ Gospel Singer’s..
Pat Hoffmaster (with Blackwood Brothers of the early 70’s) would be my number one as far as true tenor talent. His tones are unmatched. He was absolutely incredible! And no one before nor after can match his tones.
As to awe-ability, it would be Steve Warren. Steve, though not a natural tenor, has wowed not only southern gospel fans with his range, but even the likes of Wayne Newton (evident by the live recordings on his MySpace). He is trully “The Voice”. I mean, no one can do that. Let alone the piano ... guitar ... bass ... drums ... and the list goes on and on with the list of instruments he can plays in the “Steve Warren Orchestra” ... and we havent even touched his writing, arranging, and producing.
Anyhow, that is my two choices ... and it should be yours.

I’ll agree with you on ‘Steve Warren’ but as other post says’’ There are many great Tenor’s in SGM----Larry Ford’s voice has so much range too?
But have you heard the songs on Steve’s myspace? Go listen to the first song ... it comes up immediately. It is introduced by Wayne Newton while he was with the Newton Show. Wayne states in the introduction that it is Steve’s second day with them ... I am telling you, it is amazing! And then Wayne asks him to sing Amazing Grace and the crowd goes wild as soon as he starts it. That is just too cool, that at a secular concert they would be so open to Christian music. You should here the crowd.
I love Scott Roger’s voice. He is so smooth! In fact, I have a friend who doesn’t post on here, who listens to every kind of music imaginable and has for many years. She will flat out tell you that Scott’s voice is her absolute favorite.
I love to hear Brian as well.....some songs should be sung by no one else!!
