Ok, I can ungerstand him getting mixed up when he spoke about the Iraq/Pakistan border and him getting Shiites and Sunnis confused. Although I would prefer a president that knows these things better, perhaps he the campaign is tiring him out. And we can overlook, I guess, the fact that he graduated 894 out of 899 at the naval acadamy and went on to crash several planes while on duty...I mean he did have that cross in the sand story (the details of which seems to change everytime he tells it...)

But he doesn’t know how many houses he has?
I personally don’t care where he graduated at in his class, the fact that he graduated from the academy is far more than I have done. The simple fact is that Cindy McCain is the one handling the property matters. When my wife used to do acrylic nails on ladies fingers, I never knew what her facts and figures were. I would say it’s the same sort of situation. If someone had asked me how many customers my wife had, I would have to had said, “don’t know, I’ll have to ask my wife”.
Nice liberal spin though. Sort of like the wealthy making more than $5 million. Anybody watching that program knows that he is being taken out of context, yet the Dems continue to use it out of context. That Obama is a real fair playing candidate.
Well one person running for President, and I will not name names, said that he had visited 57 states. That same person also introduced his VP nomination as “the next President of the United States”
Deon, I agree 100% with you about the 5 million. If you watch the clip you can tell…

I sure hope that he wasn’t referring to the 57 Muslim states. A bit odd don’t you think?
Cindy McCain also controls the largest Budweiser Distributorship in the Country. Google Keating Five and refresh your memories. You are all in for a surprise if you are hoping to tout “Christian values” in this instance. Some of her family are clients and personal friends of mine, and believe me, I have tried to keep an open mind.
We have a very sorry slate of candidates, right down to the local level, in some cases. Our State is no different than any others. We are all in one big mess! (no matter who gets in)

I don’t believe anyone has hinted that McCain is our perfect candidate. He certainly is not, however, he is light-years closer to projecting Christian values than his opponent, Obama. Remember, he’s not just pro-abortion, he doesn’t even want to save babies who survived abortions, lest it would do away with RoevsWade.
As far as Cindy McCain goes, I know several Baptists and Pentecostals, let alone Lutherans who smoke and drink. While I don’t agree with it, and don’t understand their thinking on it, I’m not going to say that they are not Christians.
Let me repeat what I have said several times before on these threads. I am not a McCain fan. He was my least favorite of all the Conservative candidates that I would have voted for. With that in mind, when have to choose between him and Obama, there is no question who most closely agrees with my Conservative thinking, and that is John McCain.

It is too early for me to determine who I can support, if either. I am a registered Independent, as I became very unhappy with both major parties awhile back, and switched my registration.
I will continue my plan to watch both conventions, read, observe, and not get carried away by blindly following talking heads from either side and I will make up my own mind.
So far neither side has told how they are going to do what they are promising - My hope is the mud slinging, insults, and innuendors stop, and the candidates get to the “meat” of the issues. (I know - silly of me, right? lol)

I’ve seen enough fundamental differences that I’ve made up my mind.
Like Deon said, McCain isn’t the first person I’d have picked. I was a Fred Thompson fan early on. He’s much more conservative than McCain.
But with both Obama and McCain clearly stating their views on taxes, abortion, health care, and energy, he still stands in fairly sharp contrast to McCain.
About the only area where Obama wins is his personality. When you start listening to everything he plans to DO, though, there’s a lot of red flags.

Might I suggest you watch the Saddleback Civil Forum. If you can’t come closer to making a decision after watching that, then I don’t know if you will learn everything you are looking for. It was very informative and very interesting to see how Obama and McCain would answer the exact same questions without either hearing the answers of their opponent. Again, check that out. I have posted links in a thread on here about that to where you can see it in its entirety.
I will add that I am finding I enjoy watching all this political activity on CSpan - it does allow one to think very clearly about the subject at hand, rather than have two pundits immediately tell us how we are supposed to think - with each one being paid by each side to be there.
Did anybody watch Larry King tonite? Wow, the Democratic mean spiritedness is in full swing. Two Liberal radio talk show hosts are ripping into Palin about her
daughter. They have no shame.
I, too, watched the program, and I did not come away with that opinion at all. I thought everyone agreed that families and children should be left alone - The ones I saw talking all agreed this event has nothing to do with her qualifications. See how 2 people watching the same thing can come away with 2 total different opinions? I love being Independent and unbiased. I wasn’t always that way. lol I never did look good in those blinders, anyway.....

No, not the program I watched. The two Liberal radio talk show hosts said that it was for Obama to take the high road and they would take the low road, and them cracked tasteless jokes about Palin’s daughter. You must have slipped those blinders back on while watching this program, because they were vicious and mean.

There are lots of good Christian folks working for Anheuser Busch. There are lots of sinners working on staffs at churches.
