There are a lot of great tenors out there, and many have been named.  Michael Booth is a fantastic tenor. But what makes him special is not just his voice, but the passion in his heart about what he is singing that comes through with every note!
This. to me, is what should set a Gospel tenor apart from just another tenor.

Favorite tenor of all time: Ron Booth Sr. I was a teen when he was with the Rebels. They were all GREAT.

I’d have to say Michael Booth is my second favorite. He’s got good genes.

I may be biased, but Joe Bonsall is my all-time favorite tenor (and dear friend).

My favorite tenors are not the ones who sound too thin or nasal. I like tenors who have POWER behind them. Funderburk is the bar by which I judge other tenors - he could hit those screaming high notes, and still have power behind them without sounding strained. He also had a beautiful ballad voice.

Currently, I think Steve Ladd is one of the best tenors on the road today. He has grown by leaps and bounds since joining Gold City, and continues to do so. He’s gonna be one that people talk about years from now.
