We moved to East Tennessee on faith, to follow God’s call to go into full-time gospel music ministry. Our series on the great individual portions of gospel quartets (the primary performance unit of southern gospel music) continues this month with a look back at the genre’s great instrumental accompanists.
Bubba Smith is a Grammy and Dove Award winning producer who has worked on critically acclaimed projects for such notable artists as Shirley Caesar, the Crabb Family, Karen Peck & New River, Austins Bridge, Sandi Patty, and many more. He was awarded Producer of the Year (Professional) in the 2006 SGN Music Awards

I have heard a lot of debate over the last few years about whether Southern Gospel should use that name or something else such as American Christian music. The argument goes that the term Southern Gospel has a poor reputation and carries with it baggage
As I pondered what to do for Jim this year, I thought of the usual, Starbuck’s gift card, or something musical, such as a CD, DVD or Blu-ray disc. He would appreciate any one of those things, but I realize there are better gifts I can give, the ones that money can’t buy
This month I would like to write a little about what the theme of our songs should be , according to the word of God. What kinds of things are said about singing in the book of songs , “Psalms”.

Have you ever had something that you were saving; saving it for last because it was the best? Holding onto it for a time when you really knew you were going to need it. Jesus turned the water into wine after they ran out of the cheap stuff.
Wow! snow and more snow. That's the way it's been here for the past few days. However, there is some light at the end of the tunnel. They are predicting a thaw in the next few days, so that will make life a little more bearable as far as that's concerned.
Wherever you are in your journey today - whether you are traveling in the darkness, in the light, or about to take on a new chapter in life - please know that God is loving you, supporting you, and offering you abundant and amazing grace!
