My church has had the Rochesters in twice and ever since then their family is very humble and always giving God the Glory and never trying to promote themselves but promote their Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. My church is located in "Rochester, NY" so when the Rochesters came to my church it was a little ironic. Anyways the Rochesters are a great sining family and we should expect many more spirit filled and Christ Centered recordings. Cant wait to have them in again

We had the pleasure of meeting LordSong at a concert in Snead, AL and what an awesome concert it was. We were very impressed by their sincerity and also the way they handled the invitation. They did it in such a way as to be able to pray for those that came to the altar. They showed true love for the congregation and Michael encouraged our group afterward, even letting us hear part of a song he had written. I hope if you get the chance to hear them in person, especially at a church, don't pass up the opportunity!

As soon as I saw this CD on the shelf, I bought it and was delighted. I heard the Carolina Boys shortly after their decision on the name at a New Years' Concert in Charleston. Having never seen the Kingsmen live, I was amazed at this group. I love everything about this project, from the soul-stiiring words to the toe-tapping music and even to the neat newspaper-like insert cover. I can't wait for the next album.

DITTO on Brian's comments! (above)
I am absolutely thrilled about the concept of a fan-based music chart. After all, if it weren't for the fans of our music, who would be listening to it?? Shouldn't WE listen to THEM for a change? In my humble opinion, the listener's input is what ALL music charts should be based upon.
THANK YOU southerngospelnews.com for having the courage to do what others seem to be afraid of. No wonder yours is the leading web publication for gospel music! You got my vote!!

I have been told that Jonathan Martin sings a song called "I've Got You Covered" on an album titled "In Honor of the Father." Does anyone know how to get a copy of that?? Parker was and is one of the best, even though that comment was rough, however he did have a bad attitude. When we are put up by God to sing we need to try and display a good attitude even when we dont feel good, mistakes do happen for we are flesh. I do dig his sound even though i personally did not care for his attitude on SEVERAL occaisions

Kev,
In what way is so called "normal" Southern Gospel music "seperate from the world," contrasted to the Martins' music? You can't say lyrics, because the Martins' music is ever bit as infused with the Gospel as other Southern Gospel songs. You can't say the music, because Southern Gospel sounds just as up to date and modern as other Christian and secular music. Your statements are based on your own personal tastes. Your personal tastes don't define God's standards.

Ricky Carden is one of the best and most underrated lead singers in the business. I hope more of the country will become better acquainted with these guys. They love the Lord and this is evident during each concert.

Why is it that anytime a group performs music that sounds like it was written after 1955 it gets labeled as "progressive" as if that were a bad thing. For some strange reason there is a large group of Southern Gospel fans out there that feel that if a groups music sounds "new" then it must not glorify God. How sad a statement! Instead of building up and edifying those who have the courage to proclaim the Gospel (whatever their musical genre) we feel the need to tear them down because they don't fit in our little mold of what S.G. music should sound like. LordSong, Keep keepin on! May your ministry be blessed far beyond your wildest imagination. And know that there are fans out there that care far more about an artists heart than the beat of their music.

I have known the members of this group for some time, and KNOW that they are focused on Christ. These guys are awesome!!!! I always say that I am pleased to see success and blessings bestowed upon those who are true to His ministry, and the Journeymen deserve all of the blessings they are receiving.

It is to my understanding that Jonathan left the group temporarily to be with his family. It will be interesting to see if he comes back... I sure hope so. I loved to see his shining, smiling face as he sang of Gods love for us.

Just a few words about groups such as the Martins. My Bible teaches me to "come out from among the world and be ye a separate people". Just like the Contemporary Christian groups and singers, how can we come out and be different, if we're teaching people we can hold on to God and the world at the same time? And that's exactly what these types of singers are doing. No matter what anybody says. It's really sad to think my children are being taught this stuff. Just remember, God is coming back looking for "a peculiar people". Not people that's just like the ones that'll be left behind. This is not judging either, in case people think so. The Word of God has already judged everybody.
