Crossroads
If you are looking for a state of the art recording, then this is not your cup of tea. However, if you want a CD that will give you a very accurate taste of the history of Southern Gospel Music, then this is made for you.
Every serious Southern fans needs to have a copy of this CD. If they make a matching video or DVD, then I want it too.
You are going to hear the original groups on their original recordings. There are fourteen in all, including The LeFevre Trio singing “The Old Gospel Ship”. The Stamps Quartet sings the song that they made so popular, “Give The World A Smile”. The Golden Gate Quartet does a great job on the old spiritual “Swing Down, Chariot”.
If you are a collector of Southern Gospel recordings, then this is a must have. Thanks you Crossroads for giving us a little history to listen to.
Because of the uniqueness of this recording, I will be giving it two ratings. One rating will be for quality, and the second for value to SGM.
