Triumphant Quartet - You Gotta Love It!

Since Triumphant Quartet's inception, I've been waiting on a recording from them that just complete blows me away. While I wouldn't say this latest release utterly floors me; it does, however, come closer to it than any other recording they have done. The guys, along with their Producer, Steve Mauldin (someone who's work I greatly admire), really pulled it all together and made an exceptional piece of work.
Electric guitar and a strong drum beat starts off the lead off tune, "GIVER, CREATOR, SAVIOR" and the country feel of this tune leads into two more uptempo songs, "YOU GOTTA LOVE IT" and "SMACK DAB IN THE MIDDLE OF HIS WILL" before things finally slow down for the Dianne Wilkinson/Ann Downing penned, "HE WILL BE", which features an excellent performance by David Sutton. David also sings on another song penned by Wilkinson and Downing entitled, "DELIVERED AGAIN."
Ronnie Hinson penned the fun tune, "LET IT BE ME" which features a charismatic performance by Eric Bennett and it shows just why he is one of the favorite (and I believe to be one of the best) male vocalists in the industry.
Scott Inman turns in what is quite possibly his best vocal performance ever on the Phil Cross/Twila LaBar penned power ballad, "THE GREAT I AM STILL IS." Scott has always impressed me as a very strong and capable singer, but he really took things up a notch with this song, which I could easily see as a radio single.
Dianne Wilkinson penned the bluegrass tinged, "THE OLD WHITE FLAG". While bluegrass isn't quite my forte, I must confess that this is one of my favorites on the recording, as is their current single release, "HE RESCUED ME", which is Southern Gospel Quartet music to the core.
Clayton Inman sings the Dottie Rambo classic, "THE HOLY HILLS OF HEAVEN" (the tempo runs a bit too fast for my liking on the song) before quartet sounds abound for the uptempo, "I KNOW I'M GOING HOME", which was written by Jeff Stice and ends the recording on a high.
While I wouldn't say there was anything on here that really stretched these guys, they stayed true to who they were, which is exactly what their fans want. Excellent music tracks, solid vocals and a very good list of songs make this a highly enjoyable recording to listen to. There are several tunes that could easily make it to radio, so I do see the lifespan of this recording lasting a good while. I'm impressed with what I heard and I look for great things to come from this recording.
