Three Bridges - New Star Shining
In the past few years Southern Gospel artists have finally begun to record good Christmas albums. Three Bridges has joined the ranks of those artists, and they have certainly given a great effort. While you don’t normally think of harmony involvement with Christmas projects, you get a real bonus with the close harmony and timing in the performance on these songs. I’m especially impressed with the harmony on “Beautiful Star Of Bethlehem”. This is the way that this song is supposed to be sung. There are only two secular songs on this CD. “The Christmas Song” has a mellow track and the performance is full of expression. It’s a nice combination. “I’ll Be Home With Bells On” has a nice country feel to it. The track almost gives you a bluegrass feel with some neat banjo playing going on. If you don’t watch it, this cut will become a family sing-a-long. Three Bridges can give some interesting sounds, and that’s exactly what they do on “Amen”. It’s lively and full of energy. This is my favorite cut on the CD. Other songs include “The First Noel”, New Star Shining”, “come on Ring Those Bells” and “Oh Come, Oh Come Emmanuel”, which is an awesome a capella version. This Christmas CD will be a nice addition to any CD collection, and is sure to brighten your holiday season. Reader Comments
