Often times, coming off a really good recording, it is hare to out do the last performance. Not so with this new CD release by the Hoppers. This is no doubt one of the biggest sounding CDs that the Hoppers have ever put out, and it has some great sounds on it.  It starts out with a very nice rendition of the old hymn “I Sing The Mighty Power”. This just sets the mood for entire project.

There is also a very nice cover of the Carol Roberson song “She Found Jesus Alive”. They give it an extra flair that I haven’t heard on any other recordings of this song. You will need about two boxes of Kleenex as you listen to a heart-rending performance by Connie on “See How She Loves Him”, a song of how strong the love between a man and wife are even through the terrible circumstance of Alzheimers.

There are some really good songs on here that I would like to see go to radio, including “Great Day In The Morning”, “God Is Good’, “I Call You Faithful”, and “Jerusalem.” The first three are nice upbeat songs that are always great for radio, but “Jerusalem” is a song that has taken the Hoppers a step further than they have ever been. Even though the track starts out reminiscent to the Lion King sound track and you keep waiting for this big lion roar, it sets the environment for the rest of the song. You are waiting in anticipation for the song, and you are not disappointed. This song is sure to have people out of their seats at concerts, but it may also be hard to keep your car on the road while listening to this at drive time.

“We Are America” is a nice patriotic song, which is always appropriate in this time we live in. It is nice to see Spring Hill using a lot of patriotic material with their artists.

Other songs include “Child Of God”, “Going Home Forever”, and “Look For Me Around The Throne”.

Rating:  5 Star Rating

Ive listened to the sample, i have my CD on order, but something puzzles me, there are 12 songs on the sample, and on the Hopper's store, there are only 11 songs listed on the track, could someone who has the CD email me the track listing from their CD?

Thanks!

I've just finished listening to this cd in it's entirety...WOW!! It's amazing how a group that has not undergone personel changes in YEARS can sound so FRESH on every project. This has to be one of their best ever. I LOVE the song "JERUSALEM"...it's like nothing I've heard before on a SG recording. They definitely deserve the 5 star rating and the recent Singing News fan awards. Congrats Hoppers!!!!

Connie, you did a beautiful job on my song SEE HOW SHE LOVES HIM! It's a true story about my in-laws, Norman and Florene Owen. We haven't gotten him a memorial yet. We will, but I think your rendition of See How She Loves is a better mrmorial than any cold piece of stone could ever be. Thank you for honoring all the families who fight Alzheimer's with faithful love and tenderness.

Well, I am biased in that the Hoppers are my absolute favorite people in gospel music today...but this project is far beyond any other they've ever done! My pic for radio single/smash is "Great Day in the Morning"...typical Hopper sound, but with a new flair. "Jerusalem" is phenomenal...I hope SG folks "get it" and "Child of God" is one of the most comforting, sweet songs I've ever heard. This project has Lari Goss all over it and he's about outdone himself with these arrangements!

I can't find a "bad" song on this project and highly recommend it to any southern gospel fan....you'll quickly become a Hoppers-fan!

The Hoppers are awesome. "Jerusalem" was exceptionally great at the NQC also. Hats off to the Hoppers!

I just got my copy of The Hoppers "Great Day" CD today(I'm a little slow!) and I just have one word to describe this recording: WOW! This is a great album(but hey, would you expect anything less from America's Favorite Family of Southern Gospel?!) I haven't gotten to listen to the album all the way through yet, but the ones I've heard I love! I think my favorite is going to be "Jerusalem", but I'm sure all the songs are great. Way to go guys!!
