The Greesons, a family group with a deep heritage consist of Tony Dykes (lead), Lisa Dykes (alto), Darrell Demastus (bass), Karen Demastus (soprano) and the latest addition Joey Demastus (lead/baritone). This project, recorded live is a CD with plenty of excitement and emotion the the style made popular by the McKameys.
Dave Wilcox of the Eddie Crook Company introduces the Greesons to what is apparently "their crowd." If it's trained voices that you are looking for, then this CD probably isn't for you, there are a few pitch problems on it, however if this CD is not lacking excitement and puts you right in the middle of their worship time.
Two of the songs were penned by group member Karen Demastus. "Press On," a medium paced song of encouragement and "The Altar." Other songs include "Almost Home", "We Need To Pray", "Gloryland" a song reminiscent of the cut that the Kingsmen did with "Old Ship Of Zion", "Yes I Can", "Chains Fell Away", and "Coming For Me".
If you are a fan of live recordings then you will enjoy this recording.
