It’s time to welcome to the world of Southern Gospel Music as new family with a very warm sound. I was privileged to go to a listening party for this CD and I thought at one point I was hearing somewhat of the Isaacs, then again I thought that I was hearing somewhat of the Rambos, but then I realized that this is a bright new sound of The Dunaways. You take a little bluegrass, as little country, and a little Southern Gospel and shake it all together and this fine family group comes out.

Opening the CD with their new radio release, “Beautiful Day” penned by Lori Kelly Woods, this song has some of the closest harmony that you will ever hear on a Gospel recording. The message of this song is just a great outlook on life.

“I’ll Cry All My Teardrops” is one of several songs written by the Dunaway’s neighbor, Leonard Barrier. They need to keep him a good friend, because he has certainly written some nice songs. This is one of those “old” Rambos sounding songs I was talking about. Just sit back on this one, and you will be blessed. This one would go great to radio.

Gerald Crabb penned “God’s Not Finished With Me Yet”, and new comer to the group Lawayne Rials, does a great job on this one. The message of hope in this song will certainly brighten your day.

Another song writer infiltrating most projects today is Rebecca Peck, and she has a fine cut on this CD. “Cross On The Side Of The Road”, co-written by Rebecca Peck and Jimmy Pearson, is a neat song comparing the cross placed on the side of the road after an accident to the Cross that Jesus died on for us. When it’s time for a slow radio release, this would be a good one.

Another song penned by Lori Woods that will go great on radio is “I’ve Drawn the Line”. The track to this cut has some nice licks in it.

“God Will Move”, written by another neighbor is another great song. It must be something in that Mississippi water. It’s a little progressive, but I believe that the SG radio audience will love this song. The track is nifty and the message uplifting, so I think that it makes this cut great for radio.

Probably the “biggest” song on the CD is a song co-written by neighbor Leonard Barrier and group member Tammy Dunaway is “Welcome Back The King.” This song is very worshipful.

If this CD is any indication of what we can look forward to from the Dunaways, we can expect to hear a lot more of them.

This project is truly wonderful as are the people who recorded it. We LOVE the Dunaways! Tammy and I have been going through the recording process at the same time and it has been a joy to share with eachother as each project came to completion. We sang on the phone, we prayed on the phone, we listened...yes...on the phone...lol! Beautiful Day is just as the title says...BEAUTIFUL!

I think this group and this cd are great. I'm surprised there was no comment on "I Still Trust You"...it's a fantastic cut and is currently leading their website favorites poll.

I remember when the McFalls came out with "I Still Trust You." Awesome song!

I have not had the priviledge of hearing this CD, but from all the talk, it definitely is one I must add to my collection.

I agree James. "I Still Trust You" was a great song when The McFalls did it and the Dunaways do a super job on it too.

Deon Unthank's avatar jt, the reason I didn't comment on "I Still Trust You" is because it is a cover song first recorded and made a hit by the McFalls. It is a fine song, however I felt that since it was covered, I needed to stress the other potential of the CD.

I don't know if I have ever had the priviledge of hearing this group so I have something to look forward to. However at the risk of starting another CD cover conversation, I do have to say that this one is one of the best looking ones I have seen in a while. Very Sharp and very eye catching. James Hales's avatar I have been listening to the Dunaways CD for the last few days. Great CD. Everyday (especially in the mornings) I am finding myself singing the song "Beautiful Day." Love the song.

I love "I'll Cry All my Teardrops" and "I Still Trust You." They definitely have a style akin to that of the Rambos and Isaacs.

If you've never heard the Dunaways, this is an excellent introduction of their music.

I give the CD 4 stars as well.
