The Cerces is made up of husband and wife, Cliff and Anita Cerce, and Terry Yarham. Their ministry is growing as more and more people hear them, and more and more churches are inviting them. Based in Springfield, MO, they travel all over the nation from the Northeast, to the Southeast, to the Mid-West. Cliff has been singing and involved in the Gospel Music industry for most of his life. So, they all sat down and picked a group of their very favorite songs for this project. And it’s a “Best of” list for sure.
Starting with the upbeat “Joshua Fit The Battle Of Jerico,” they will get your toe to tapping with their close harmonies. “I’ll Keep Holding On To Jesus” follows, then “Everyday Will Be Sunday”. Neil Enloe’s “Lost, Searching, Found” leads into a great rendition of the classic, “Down By The Riverside”. Anita takes the lead on “The Plaec Of Prayer” and “I’m The Lamb” features Terry.
“Country Church” is a great nostalgic song, with bits of familiar hymns included. “He Cares,” written by Cliff is a heartwarming selection.
Dad Speer’s classic “I Never Shall Forget The Day,” never goes out of style. Jim Hill’s “What A Day” shows off the Cerce’s good harmonies. “I’ll Go”, penned by Nancy Harmon is an interesting piece, starting with a bluesy opening, but ending with a hard-driving chorus.
The project ends with a stirring arrangement of “When He Comes Down”.
It was a pleasure to hear some of these great songs resurrected, but the Cerces don’t just perform the songs, they minister each one to the listener.
Personal Favorites: “Joshua Fit The Battle of Jerico”, “Down By The Riverside” and “He Cares”.
