The Booth Brothers - The Booth Brothers
The second half of this project begins with another slow inspirational tune called “Don’t Let Me Lose Sight,” written by Jim Brady, the newest member of the trio. No Booth Brothers CD would be complete without a “Still Feelin’ Fine” style arrangement. “The River Keeps A-Rollin” is a great deal of fun and should be a concert favorite. To heighten the energy, it features a guitar solo and another “trash can” ending. The transition from such a high energy song to “Steps” is a bit abrupt. “Steps” is a slow, emotionally moving song that would have probably been more effective as the final cut on the CD. Larry Gatlin wrote it, and the simple bass, acoustic guitar, and percussion accompaniment is a very nice contrast to the rest of the tunes.

This is an excellent review! I love this project. They don't try to amaze you with an extremely high tenor and they don't have a bass to amaze you with. They amaze you with their beautiful harmonies. Nice and smooth. Another great album from the folks at Spring Hill.

TJ,
Thanks for the "excellent review" comment, but a review like this is really the easiest type to write. When a product is great in every way, all I have to do is mention everything that's great about it. That's the case with this CD. To me, an "excellent review" is one where I have to point out some weaknesses. For example, a few months ago, I rated a CD 2 stars. I never get compliments on those types of reviews, but I think that's the kind of review that does the greatest service to someone thinking about purchasing a product. I don't expect everyone to agree with my reviews all the time, but you can count on one thing from me (and the rest of the reviewers at Sogospelnews, IMO) . . . I will always state my honest analysis. I will NEVER over-hype a CD when I think it has flaws.

Understand me...the cover pic is excellent, I just don't think it fits them.
