Testify is a group I have really began taking a liking to over the past year. Their current CD, “The Highest Call” , is their best recording to date and I am thrilled to finally see them in concert, via this new live DVD. Recorded live in front of an enthusiastic crowd of Testify fans at the Starlite Theater in Branson, MO, this live concert features mostly songs from their current CD, as well some of their more popular songs from the past.

Their previous chart song, “ALL IT TAKES IS A SHOUT” gets things started and they quickly progress through a myriad of songs effortlessly moving from excellent uptempo number like “WHEN I LIFT UP MY HEAD”, “THE WALK”, “DOUBTER TO A SHOUTER” and “KEEP WALKING”, to the medium, easy flowing feel of “TAKE ME THERE”, “SHINE ON”, and “THREE NAILS, THREE DAYS” to the slower and more worshipful tunes like “FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST”, “LIVING FOR THE CALL”, “WITH A NAME LIKE HIS” and “THE HIGHEST CALL”. They even throwing in a few classics like “HE WASHED MY EYES WITH TEARS”, “I WOULDN'T TAKE NOTHING FOR MY JOURNEY NOW” (interesting acapella arrangement) , “I BOWED ON MY KNEES” (awesome performance) and “OH, WHAT A SAVIOR”. Closing out the CD is their hit song “IN GOD WE TRUST”, which did so well for the group last year.

In a recent article I did on Testify here on SoGospelNews, Kenneth Swanner said, “ For this being our first video I think it went well. It is almost exactly what people can expect to see at a Testify concert.” What you see is what you get with this video. You get a lot of great singing by one of the best up and coming groups in Southern Gospel Music. The total package is very well put together. The overall quality of the video is very good, with a great sound mix as well as nice lighting and effects. You'll definitely get your money's worth!
