Tennessee Harmony - Standing Strong
![]() Producers: Tennessee Harmony and Michael Lee These are four young guys out of East Tennessee who have some great harmony. The two ends of the group give them a very wide range. Tenor, Blair Cantrell hits some pretty high notes and Bass singer John Nix goes to the basement as well as any Bass singer today. The two inside parts are very solid also. Lead singer, Rocky Chavis is a very powerful Lead, while Baritone, Tom Castello has some real smooth features. One of my favorites on the CD is the very first song. “Standing Strong”, penned by their talented Lead singer, is full of energy and great close harmony. There are a couple of nice “classics” on this CD. John Nix does a fantastic job on those sub-low notes. This is a real fun song that everyone will enjoy. The other “classic” is “The Gallilean”. The expression on the wording by Tenor Blair Cantrell is excellent. The tracks are all nice and make the CD very enjoyable. The other songs are all cover tunes, which if I have a complaint about this CD is that Tennessee Harmony is too good to be singing mostly cover songs. Guys, it’s time to speak with some good songwriters about some original material. Other songs include “Bein’ Happy”, “Strong Hand”, “Woke Up This Morning” and “Baptism Of Jesse Taylor”. They’re all performed well, but to move to the next level, it’s time to take it to original material. Reader Comments |
