Although most prominent in the southeastern United States, southern gospel music is not limited to just one region of this country or even to just this country. Our neighbors to the north enjoy southern gospel music as much as anyone. This is evidenced by the number of local and regional groups active in Canada . Skyway is one such group that is composed of Jonathan Bell, Paul Martin, Timothy Bell and Tom Wilson. This self-titled project is a commendable effort from these men that contains ten familiar songs performed in straight-ahead, four-part-male-harmony southern gospel style. The songs range from such classic hymns as "He Touched Me" and "I Feel Like Travelling On" (sic) to newer songs like "So Much God" and "In His Grip."
All of the individual vocal parts are at least adequate, while some are very good. When all of the voices blend together, the result is a pleasing sound that would make any Skyway quartet fan proud. Overall, this project is a good introduction to Skyway and produces more hits than misses.
Other Songs: "The Pleasure Is Mine," "Still Feelin' Fine," "Mercy River, " "He'd Still Been God," "Hide Thou Me," "God On The Mountain"
