Shannon Bunch has put together a very good solo project. His more progressive Southern Gospel style is well produced and features some hot tracks and some very good songs, many of which were written by Shannon himself.

Shannon starts the project off with the title cut, “Take Me There”. This song from the pens of William Albritton and Mark Willett kicks the album off in good fashion. “The Story” keeps the tempo up and is the first song showcasing Shannon’s writing ability. His co-writer on the song is Jimmy McMillan.

“Lord, I Thank You For the Valley” is a pretty mid tempo song written by Michael Smith. “One Lamb, One Cross, One Time”, another song written by Shannon is a very pretty ballad. This song is a highlight of the project.

“Keep Drinking Water From the Well” has a kicking track, written by Randy Mobley. This song has a lot of radio potential. Shannon slows the tempo down with a very pleasant job on the Gospel classic, “I’d Rather Have Jesus”. This song was copyrighted in 1922 but no matter how old it is, the message never grows old. You can tell that Shannon means this as he sings it.

“I Will Keep the Faith” changes the pace and takes us back to the progressive style that Shannon really shines on. He is joined on this one by Faith 3. Shannon once again teams with Jimmy McMillan for another great song,” Land of No More”.

“Heavens Waiting Room” is a touching song from the pen of Randy Mobley. This song is about and elderly man and woman, living in a nursing home who are looking forward to their home going. This tune will touch your heart. Producer Shane Roark adds to the fun by writing a good country style song, “Chains Fell Away”. Shannon closes the project with a nicely orchestrated version of the Mosie Lister classic, “’Til The Storm Passes By”. This has to be one of the all time great Gospel songs and Shannon sings it well.

I really enjoyed this project. It has a lot of variety on it and the guys did a great job with the production. Make sure to check it out for yourself.
