Label- Independent
Producers- Wallace Nelms and Larry Pippin

I recently had the pleasure to meet this wonderful group from Elizabethtown TN, Sacred Harmony. They have released a brand new project with a nice mix of old and new material.

Wallace Nelms, former tenor of the Statesmen Qt. and Landmarks, is featured on the title song of the project, America, Live Again. This is one of the better God and Country songs to come along in a while. “I’ll Not Turn Back”, most recently released by the Kingsmen Qt., follows and features Larry Pippin on the second verse.

“Heaven Will Be Mine Someday”, is a great song from Squire Parsons and once again features Larry. The old Bill Monroe song, “Somebody Touched Me”, adds a little touch of Bluegrass to the project. They have put together a very pretty medley of great Gospel songs which include, “Holy Spirit Thou Art Welcome” and “I Will Serve Thee”.

Janet Weaver sings the old Singing Americans classic, “Welcome to Heaven”. Janet has a very pleasant voice and does a good job on the song. “Thank You” is a very nice song featuring Wallace and written by former Statesmen lead singer, Jack Toney.

They have included the Country Music classic, “Will the Circle Be Unbroken”, adding another splash of mountain music to the recording. “He’s a Comfort to Know” is a traditional quartet song and was co-written by Wallace Nelms. Larry Pippin does a nice job on the second verse.

“Take the Hand of the Lord” is a very melodic song written by former Rangers Trio member, Clark Thompson. They have also included the Southern Gospel classic, “Sweeter as the Days Go By”. The album ends with Wallace singing the song that he sang for so many years with the Statesmen Qt., “Oh What a Savior”. They have done a great job of mimicking the piano styling of Hovie Lister on this track.

Sacred Harmony has put together a nice project and is a solid regional group. They do a lot of more traditional male quartet. I would like to hear them do some songs that are more designed to feature the female vocalists who both have very nice voices.

You’ll find no finer folks than these folks from the mountains of Tennessee. I look forward to hearing more from them in the future.
