The Patriot Quartet is not a household name, but by listening to this CD you can see that they could be. You will hear some great harmony, and if you like those old time quartet singings, then you are going to love this CD as it has a nice blend of songs, bringing back some great old classics.
This CD opens with the nice up-beat song “My God.” Another up-beat song is “I Wanna Hear It Again” which features the Bass voice of Darrell Gabhart. Quartet lovers will really like the resonance of his voice.
One of my favorite songs on the CD is the remake of the old Downings song, “Great Day.” They do the song justice with a lot of energy. Another good old song that they redid very well is Leroy Abernathy's “Wonderful Time Up There.” Lead singer Joe White does a nice job covering the Jake Hess tune that was penned by Daryl Williams, “I Got Blessed.”
The only real complaint that I have with this CD is that the Patriot Quartet are too good to be singing so many “cover” songs. They need to branch out and select some new and original material. They have the talent to put “their own sound” on some original songs.
Other songs include “There'll Be No Disappointments In Heaven,“ "I'm Trusting You," “Just A Matter Of Time,” “When My Feet Touch The Streets Of Gold," "The Lighthouse,” and “When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder.”
