Paid in Full's last hymns project, Sounds of Home, featured several songs about Heaven and the life hereafter. This latest offering, as the title implies, features many songs about faith; faith in the finished work of Calvary, faith in the promise of eternal life, salvation and living for Jesus, and features some well crafted tunes that are familiar to most of us. Also much like their last hymns recording, they feature a more Appalachian flavor with their music and arrangements.

With the departure of tenor Jeff Crews, I will admit that I was a little concerned about their sound, as Jeff was a major part of Paid in Full's rich sound. Could they find someone who could offer that same sound but offer something different at the same time? While I wouldn't say they came through the change unscathed, I think with time they will mold and gel into their own unique sound. Lance Moore and Bradley Littlejohn have proved themselves over time that they have a very high standard, so I expect with their newest addition, Brock White, they will come out of this transition period with flying colors.

Some of the musical highlights for me include the seldom heard hymn "LIVING FOR JESUS" as well as "WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS" (I love this arrangement) and "HIGHER GROUND" (PIF borrowed the driving arrangement Ponder, Sykes & Wright used when they recorded the song several years ago). Of course several all time favorite hymns are included such as "THE LOVE OF GOD", "UNCLOUDED DAY", "THE OLD RUGGED CROSS", and "BLESSED ASSURANCE" among others.

There is just something special about hearing hymns done up in that old sound from Appalachia; and Paid in Full has just about cornered that market, in my opinion. Fresh arrangements, nicely done vocals and great instrumentation makes for a nice, easy listening experience that you'll enjoy over and over again.
