Ever since I first heard these guys I have been a fan. Their sound is a mix of the old school, combined with the sounds of today and they sing with an infectious enthusiasm that even while they sing, you can’t help but smile. This is by far, their best effort to date.
Jumping out of the gate is the highly enjoyable ”EVERY DAY.” I love the message in this song, as it confronts each believer that “everyday is a testimony of God’s grace and love, everyday I’m reminded what my heart’s made of, everyday I see God’s faithfulness and wonder how it can be, that someone like Jesus could love someone like me.” This song shows how these guys tackle an edgy tune.
The medium tempo ”HE’S ALREADY HERE” reminds us…"He’s already here with us, before we ever call His name.” God loves us so much, that before we ever call His name, He is right there with us.
Jeff Crews croons out an excellent performance on the ballad ”WORK OF GRACE.” Written by Diane Wilkinson, the message in this song is that of awe and wonder at how a God as marvelous and ours, loves us so much to do a work beyond our comprehension within us.
”IN A MILLION YEARS” is a highly infectious tune that is fun to listen to and will no doubt be a concert favorite. Taken from the parable of the prodigal son, Lance Moore does a great job singing the reflective ballad ”MY FATHER’S HOUSE.”
Two classic Inspirations songs from the early 70s are included on this CD. The guys do excellent renditions of ”THE FIRST LOOK” and ”I’LL BE IN THE RAPTURE.” The latter song really shows how this trio tackles a true quartet song. Excellent job guys!
Bradley Littlejohn steps up next to sing the country flavored ”WHAT YOU’VE DONE FOR ME.” Written by songwriter extraordinaire Elmer Cole almost 30 years ago, this song is a classic example of his writings.
I loved the music of another Mississippi based group called the McFalls, and it was pure Heaven to see the guys revive one of their older songs called ”HEAVEN IS MY GOAL.” The guys do an exceptional job on this high-energy tune. Make sure you have your running shoes on with this one! This would be an excellent choice as a single.
Previously recorded by the Cathedrals, Wendy Bagwell & The Sunliters among others back in the mid 70s, Paid in Full does a super job singing the classic ”THAT’S JUST LIKE JESUS.”
Closing things out and showing off what these guys can do with some really sweet harmony, is another older Elmer Cole song called, ”IT WAS LOVE.” The guys sound almost exactly like the Couriers on this song. Great singing.
If you have never gotten yourself acquainted with Paid in Full and their music, now is the time. This recording really shows the full spectrum with which these guys sing. I really enjoy hearing these guys revive the older songs. I would love to see then do a complete recording revitalizing some of those old classics from the 50s, 60s and 70s. I am not talking about a budget recording, but a first rate recording. But beyond that, they tackle new songs like the pros that they are. Also one thing that impresses me with this group is that all three take solos extremely well. There really aren’t any weak spots in their sound at all. Keep it up!
