Living Waters Trio - “Talk to Me”
For not being a big fan of bluegrass music, I sure am finding a lot to like about this group and this recording. To say I am impressed with this group is an understatement. I wouldn’t necessarily call them bluegrass, but rather maybe mountain-acoustical. They have a fresh sound and the sweet vocal of Tabitha Dockery is at the forefront of their sound. Her voice is kind of a mix between Kelly and Terah Crabb, with a hint of Sheri Easter. Israel Crawford has a very good mountain quality to his voice, and what an excellent songwriter he is as well, as he wrote 8 out of the 11 songs on this recording. Kelly Jennings holds it all together with her solid alto. This group has it together and I really like what I hear. As an excellent opening song, ”TALK TO ME” is a prayer in song asking the Lord that before I raise my head each morning, for Him to talk to me and remind me that He is near. This is would be an excellent single release. The group’s current single is the medium tempo ”SWING THAT HAMMER” and is very well done and follows a similar thought process as the following song, “I’LL GO." The tempo picks up on the next song, ”NEVER AGAIN.” I simply cannot listen to ”IT’S IMPOSSIBLE TO MEASURE HIS LOVE” enough. I absolutely love this song. If this song gets released to radio, watch out, because it’ll be big. This song paints a striking, sacrificial picture of the love, mercy and grace our Savior showed not just on Calvary, but shows to us each and every day of our lives. When we finally see Christ face to face, all the troubles and trials we faced here on earth will seem as nothing. As this song says, all the trophies and crowns we receive after running this race we call life, we will gladly ”LAY IT AT HIS FEET.” ”AMAZING GRACE MELODY” is a unique combination of the classic hymn “Amazing Grace” and the song “When I Thank Him For What He Has Done.” I love the chorus of the latter song as it looks back at what He’s done, all the while looking ahead to eternity as we kneel before Him in praise…"When I thank Him for what He has done, I must look back to the crucified One, on that beautiful shore, I must kneel once more, and thank Him for what He has done.” ”IT WOULD STILL BE HEAVEN” plays on the thought that many songs have been written from…"if I had to walk a thousand miles on an old dirt road, if I had to live in a run down shack…it would still be Heaven, just because He is there.” An invigorating song about the end-time resurrection is ”RISE UP MY CHILDREN.” I must admit that every time I hear this song, an excitement bubbles up within me thinking about the day He calls His Church Home. I am sure this song does very well for the group in their personal appearances. An excellent song of triumph and freedom is the song ”LET HIM GO.” Relaying the story of the man possessed by a legion of demons dwelling in the tombs, the songs tells of the marvelous transformation that takes place when Jesus passes by. ”I MUST BE GOING” is a very appropriate and thoughtful closing to the recording. There are no banjo burning, fiddle flying, mandolin maddening up-tempo songs on this CD. Just the group presenting their laid back musical style with a decent dose of bluegrass flavoring. Check them out on the web at: http://www.angelfire.com/va3/thelwt/. One word of caution, the website has not been updated in a year. But at least you can get some info on the group. Personal Favs: TALK TO ME; SWING THAT HAMMER; IT’S IMPOSSIBLE TO MEASURE HIS LOVE; AMAZING GRACE MELODY; RISE UP MY CHILDREN; I MUST BE GOING

Again.... EXCELLENT review. Not being a "big" bluegrass fan myself, I too have been surprised at how much I like this CD. My personal fave it "Talk To Me" with "It's Impossible To Measure His Love" being close behind. Their current Single, "Swing That Hammer" is probably my least favorite on the project... (sorry Shane). This is a project where "vocals" shine way above instrumentation and I guess that's another reason I really like it, being that Harmony is my thing. I was pleasantly surprised with this project.

I just wanted to say that this group has blown my socks off! They have moved up so quickly and there's just something about them that will reach out and grab you and you cant quit listening. Their harmony is unreal. I have to say The Isaacs have nothing on them! I think they'll be big and I dont think it will be long at all until someone grabs them and gives them just the push they need. Then they'll be NO stopping them. Congrats Living Waters on a project of a lifetime!

I've only heard this group a couple of times and I must admit, they are WONDERFUL! The only downfall there is, is that we dont get to hear them enough on the radio. They have the most amazing harmony that I have ever heard. They have beautiful music arrangement to back up the vocals. I'm really expecting them to be as big if not bigger than the Crabb Family.
