Karen Peck and New River - For His Glory

It’s hard to imagine that Karen Peck and New River could ever put out a bad CD, and this one will never be referred to as “bad” either, unless they are talking really groovy and say that this is a “bad” CD, when they really mean it’s fantastic.

Opening the CD with an upbeat number, “Jump”, this really sets the mood for the remainder of the project. “Jump” is a fun song with an incredible message, relating of how a child trusts their Father to JUMP into their arms with blind faith, and how we need to be willing to JUMP into our Heavenly Father’s arms by faith. This cut should certainly be amongst the radio releases from this CD.

“That’s Why They Call It Grace” is one of those ballads that Karen sings so well. It’s nice and slow and Karen is able to put a lot of expression into it. Keeping it a nice song selection, “Get About God’s Business” is another fast tempo song that will do well on radio too.

Karen’s sister Susan Jackson is featured on “Jesus Still Sounds The Same”, “It Was Mercy” and “Here Is Where It Starts”. She does a great job on these songs.

Newcomer, Jason Jackson, not related to Susan, shows that he can let his hair down and cut a rug on “Look What The Lord Has Done”. Later on the CD, he shows that he can sing a ballad as well as anyone when he pours his heart out on “Inseparable”. This one would be great on radio too.

One of my favorites on the CD is “I Can talk About It”. Not only is the song pretty, but the message is so intimate, reaching all of us at some point in our walk with the Lord.

Other songs include “The Past”, “All for The Glory Of Christ”, and “God’s Gonna Make A Way”.

Production is great, and the quality is superb, so my only difficulty with this CD is that it is just a little predictable. I would like to see Spring Hill stretch Karen and the group just a little. Having said that, this is still a CD Karen Peck and New River fans have to get, and those who have never owned a KP&NR CD will be in for a treat.

Sam,

We certainly appreciate your concern that the comments not be used to tear others down and for the most part they never are. Unfortunately like anything else in life, occasionally someone comes along who feels the need to be sarcastic, discouraging and sometimes just plain rude. While we don't encourage these comments sometimes we just have to sit back and laugh at them as some have done here. Certainly no one here has in anyway disparaged or ridiculed or discouraged Karen Peck and New River. On the contrary, it is quite obvious by the 4 1/2 out of a possible 5 star rating and by the other comments that this is indeed a fabulous project and the same can be said about the group.

Again, thanks for your concern.
