It has to be really difficult for a soloist to compete with groups in generating the excitement on an entire CD. Jesse Dixon is a master at keeping the excitement going whether it is in concert or on CD.

Starting with the Dottie Rambo song “I Go To The Rock”, you had best have your dancing shoes on. This cut moves right along setting the mood for the entire project. Slowing the tempo down a bit, you can sit back and be blessed as Jesse sings with such emotion on “Now I Have Everything” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” “What Are They Doing In Heaven?” had me wiping the tears away. This thought provoking song is an inspiration and comfort to those who are grieving.

“Lord, Give Me Wings”, “Moses, Take Your Shoes Off”, and “One More Valley” all get your toes tapping and you hands clapping. “Lord, Give Me Wings” would be a great radio cut.

My favorite pick has to be the title cut “Get Away, Jordan”. You can actually understand all the words as Jesse sings it. He also has given it a soulful touch as only Jesse can do. I find myself hitting the replay button on the CD player when this song has finished. This would also be a good radio single.

Other songs include “Because He Lives”. “God Be With You”, “I Choose Joy”, and “O How I Need Thee”

I saw Jesse Dixon sing "Get Away Jordon" the other night at the Gaither show and I was thoroughly impressed. I am not a Jesse Dixon fan, but I loved what he did with the song!

Deon Unthank's avatar I agree, Jesse's cut on "Get Away Jordon" is one of the most refreshing renditions of that song that I have heard in a long time.
