Label:   Cross & Crown Music
Producer:   Eddie Crook

Heirline is a male trio based in Jasper, TN that has been making good southern gospel music since 1995.  They have had several charting songs in the past, including "Lord Send A Refuge" , "Oceans of Grace" , "Jesus Has Conquered the Grave" and "He's Alive" .   Homecoming Day , released in 2003, continues with the same great sound that fans of Heirline have come to expect from this talented group.

Ernie Dawson is the manager, lead singer and author of four of the twelve songs on this project.  He is also featured as a soloist on ten of the songs.  His voice has a pleasing country sound that fits Heirline's style perfectly.  This project takes advantage of Ernie's style by using a steel guitar on most every song, which gives the project an overall country sound.  Daswon's "She's Not Crying Anymore" immediately starts the project in this direction by using a strong country melody, prominent steel guitar, and a "momma" lyric to tug at your heart.  Next, the tempo picks up with Dawson 's "Jesus Is Coming" that features a strong harmonica lead.  "That Heavenly Home" is a Stamps-Baxter tune that is straight-ahead southern gospel.  "He'll See You Through" is one of my favorites from this project that features very nice harmonies and, once again, a strong country sound.  "That's God" is the latest radio release for Heirline and is a great reminder that God loves us and takes care of us in all of life's situations.

If you are a fan of good southern gospel music, you will easily enjoy this project from Heirline.  If you are a fan of Ernie Dawson, you will definitely enjoy this project as Ernie's vocals are prominent on most every song.  If you are a fan of Dallas Rogers or Jeff Moore and want to hear them featured on some songs, you may be disappointed.  The graphic design and layout for Homecoming Day is very professional, but not particularly noteworthy.  Overall, this is a quality project from a good sounding group.

Other Songs:   "Lord, I Need A Miracle" , "I Will Stand For Jesus" , "He Chose The Nails" , "Homecoming Day" , "When Sin Met Grace" , "Farther Along" , "My Shadow" (featuring Landon Dawson)

Scot,

I'm glad you gave a good description of the CD in addition to stating your opinion about the quality. I haven't heard this recording yet. After reading your descriptive review, I have a good idea of whether I'd want to hear it, though. That's should always be part of any good review . . . describing the product accurately enough that readers can know whether they'd like it (regardless of whether the reviewer likes it).

In other words, you've done a great job with your first CD review at SGNews. Welcome!

Ernie was raised by his grandmother, and not his real mother. Ernie's only memories as a child were his grandmother being his mom. No one could give this project any less than the reviewer did. GREAT job-you found all the strengths in this project. And I applaud you-for myself, Eddie Crook Co, Heirline and all of the fans and friends his music has built. Ernie just recorded a song God gave me as a writer several years ago-and it looks like he and Heirline are headed for their first Dove nomination and maybe the top of the charts. Time will tell. And God will continue to bless.

I had the oppourtunity to be with Heirline this past week-end (5-1-04) & what a blessing it was to see the audience in Maryland respond to them so well. The presence of the Lord was in that auditorium that night. Heirline has had so many wonderful songs on this last project & it has been a blessing to so many people. I appreciate the opportunity to work with Ernie Dawson & Heirline. God has blessed Ernie & his family & has been faithful to them thru all the things that satan has tried to trip them up with, but they have come out of it victorious. Praise God!!!!!! I love Ernie & his family & I appreciate the opportunity to work with such a wonderful group. Bonnie White

I'd like to say that I've not found many groups in this industry that I'd want to call a friend, but Ernie Dawson and Heirline is one of them. I've known Ernie and his family for several years. Like so many of you folks, I've eaten with them, they've been to my home and I've been to theirs, and they are always the same good, down to earth people anywhere you meet them. In my opinion, Heirline will never make a CD as good as being in service with them live! You know God is there from the time they sing the first song to the last. Ernie, I know the pain you've had because I was there, I know there were many times you thought about giving up and you didn't. I know the trouble the wicked have sent your way, but the Lord has kept you in his hand and you, your family, and the group are a walking testimony to God's amazing Grace, Power and Love! I know your first priority is to do the Lord's will and to see the lost saved. No matter how many CDs you folks do, I'll always have one. God Bless you Ernie and Heirline!

I have known Ernie and Heirline for 9 in a half years,Heirline is and always will be #1!!!!!They are a spirit filled group they know what they are singing about. They live what they sing and preach.Every time we are with Heirline they are the same on stage and off stage.(THEY ARE NOT FAKE.THEY ARE THE REAL DEAL.)If you don't get a blessing it is your fault!People has told lies on Ernie, talked about him (hold on now)But God has seen him through it all!!!!The ones that talk about Ernie is JEALOUS,Why cause Heirline has something special,Not all groups have! When people hear Heirline God begins to deal with them about their needs. The ones that are sowing discord with Ernie and Heirline.God knows who you are and where you are.If you want to have a good time in the Lord,Heirline is the one to hear. When you hear them you will be a Heirline fan too & WE LOVE HEIRLINE!!!!

We have known Ernie Dawson and his family for 5 years. We have become very close friends. We've gone on vacations together, stayed in each others homes, sang together, ate together and no matter where we are at, on stage or off stage, Ernie is the same, REAL !!!!
We enjoy his new CD very much, this CD (like all the other Heirline CD's) have such a great song selection ! Powerful songs with powerful messages that touch people's hearts.
Ernie and Heirline always keep God first in their lives on or off stage, they know the God that they are singing about. They are doing a great work for the Lord and seeing souls saved. In the bible it says that satan came to kill, steal and destroy that must be why he is always trying to bring Heirline down because they are such a powerful tool for the Lord and the devil knows it !!!!!
Ernie, family and Heirline we love you all, keep up the great work that you are doing for God, we are behind you 100% and you are always in our prayers. (can't wait to hear future Heirline recordings, they are always great !!!!)
