Gold City - Walk The Talk
After the last CD by Gold City, I wasn’t sure if they could top it or not. I guess I forgot what group I was talking about. Just as I should have expected, Gold City has moved the bar a little higher with this recording. Starting with the opening song, “Somebody Sing Me A Gospel Song” features Jonathan Wilburn, and sets the mood for a time of pure Southern Gospel enjoyment. “That Little Baby” would be a neat song on any Christmas recording, but it fits fine on this recording as the beat moves this song right along. In fact, if you don’t watch it, you’ll be clapping your hands to this one. “Calvary Conquers It All” is reminiscent of a former tune they recorded with a similar title, but it’s still a very dynamic song with a strong message. Jay Parrack is at his best on this type of song. Danny Riley does a great job on “I’m Saved, I’m Sure, I’m Ready”. I think that this cut would do great on radio. The title song of the CD, “Walk The Talk” has a novel title, but the message is ever so true. The track adds a little country flavor to it. “I’ll Say Thanks” is a beautiful and worshipful ballad. Tim Riley gets some nice low note singing done on “I Can’t Do Without The Lord”. The big band track gives this song a nice jazzy feel. While there is not a bad song in the whole CD, my favorite song is the medium tempo cut of “God Is Unwilling”. What a message of encouragement. God is unwilling for us to stay lost. Closing out the CD “God Handled It All” leaves you with a nice traditional sound featuring a little bit of everyone.

Gold City is simply the best group in SG today. The CD is one of their best and they are even better live! "That Little Baby" rocks on CD and with a Live audience they brought down the house in Overland Park,KS not exactly the Heart of Southern Gospel Country!
